On the Katie thing, Lets see, she is half his age. They date for 2 months, she is in love. She "converts" and they get engaged. She is either brainwashed, or it is all to gain publicity for their movies batman and WotW that are released within a month of each other.
I hope the movie tanks.

When I was "younger" ;D ;D I thought Tom Cruise was a hottie ( sorry ladies I loved the movie The Outsiders) . Lately I do not like how he has been acting (seriously haha) This whole thing with Katie is just plain STUPID. They are acting like h*#@ny teenagers. I worry most about Tom's kids and how their mom (Nicole Kidman) has to explain to them their dad's behaviour as seen on national TV.

I think the whole Katie thing has to do with the fact that Tom knows he is getting older and needs to reconnect with the younger crowd. Katie is his ticket for that. There were some women in my Curves yesterday afternoon I overheard talking about Tom and they both said they seriously think he is "on something". They said he has been acting just too erratic lately and they feel the behavior has to be due to something he is taking, not "love". Now wouldn't it be funny if the anti-drug advocate Tom was found out to be taking some sort of drug. LOL

I read somewhere that until he joined scientology he had a third grade reading level and someone in scientology taught him how to read. Sounds like Tom had(s) low self esteem and is trying to make up for his problems. I also have read that he is severely dyslexic. He's a little man (my mother's friend saw him and said he is no more than 5'6" ) with LD's who is trying to build himself up and coverup all his problems. Plus he's 42 and going through a midlife 'adjustment" . As Buzz Lightyear said in "Toy Story", "What a sad strange little man."

i had also heard about his dyslexia. wonder if that's why he's so big on scientology. i guess it'd think they were pretty great if they taught me to read too after all those years. i realize this is a generalization so please don't shoot me! but i've found that most small in stature men make up for it in some way. they can be more aggressive, try to womanize, be really tough, etc. i didn't realize he was quite that short so maybe that is his problem. otherwise, maybe there is something to the drug thing! that would be pretty funny in a very sad kind of way. i hope he is truly that happy. i'm not sure i've ever been quite that happy. but once you cross the line of getting in my personal busines, you've gone too far. karen

Little man syndrome is what we call it.
To me, I guess I can't really say a lot because I don't medicate Mikey. BUT I also don't go telling people what their body is or isn't made up of. Ok I do sometimes ;DBut not being offensive about it
I have known people that have been treated for varius psyological diagnosis. It has meant the world ot them to get an understanding of their condition knowing that it isn't "just them" suffering. And various ways to help them.
I personally woulnd't waste my time at a movie theater anyhow, I'm just not about to spend that kind of money on something that will have my son bouncing off the walls thinking he is a super hero because he saw the commercial

This reminds me a lot of a certain other couple I know of. He's 47, dating a 22 year old and, IMO, doing some really stupid things. It's paying off for him for the moment, but I fear for him. He may be having fun and earning more money but he's ruining himself.
I'm with some others here--I don't bother with movies. Just like TV, I don't think there's much worth watching. I don't have the time or the money. In fact, I've been so out of touch in that area that it's only been maybe a year, that I've even known what Tom Cruise looks like! I'm not sure I could pick out Brad Pitt or Johnny Depp in a crowd!

Imagine if they made a reality show based on one of our families Maybe we could get Tommy Boy to star in it. Maybe I would go see that one, maybe not. Miles

one of the drs on the today show said that scientologists believe that our bodies are contaminated with the remains of aliens that came to earth long ago. that anyone would believe that is really frightening.

Amsmom, that's the first I heard it put that way I don't want to start a religious debate but I don't think I came from aliens or monkeys. I hope I came from ET, at least he wanted to phone home OK, but seriously for a sec. What I think is funny, well, not funny, but I don't know, maybe because I don't know enough about the "religion".....how can it be that there is no such thing as a chemical imbalance? ? I know that when I make a cake and don't put in risers the cake doesn't rise. Does that make sense? If there is a certain chemical that is "off" in our bodies, isn't that the deficiency? Too much thinking

He's probably yanking all of your chains. I bet he takes all of the drugs that make him feel good and what builds his body to what makes the chicks go crazy over him. He probably has ADHD and thought ritilan was too weak and went back to what he was sucking up his nose. Do you really think stars don't party like it was still the sixties? Imagine him laughing about the stupid stuff he says and how it affects people. Bad is what makes people pay attention. He knows how chicks really feel about his smile and his being a hunk. He expects everyone to get over it and want to go to the movies to imagine they are him or under him. Capitolism, making money, making movies, making people talk. I don't agree with his religion, views, opinions, or any of the other things you guys are pissed off about, but his new chick is pretty hot.
