I know its not Mothers Day elsewhere but here in the UK today IS our Mothering Sunday .... so I don't want to grab it all to myself  - thought I would share it with all of you and say HAPPY MOTHERS DAY! (P.S. & I intend to share YOURS as well !! ;D) |

two days ago we had fathers day here in Belgium.

Hi Anneke ... I was wondering about Belgium (and Finland?) and whether it was the same for you as here but wow it is different again!! ... and you had Fathers day two days ago! ... (& not on a Sunday?) ... Our Fathers Day in the UK is in the middle of June .... When is Mothers Day in Belgium?
I am also wondering when Fathers Day is in the US ... I think the US Mothers Day is in May ??

Anne - Happy Mother's Day! I've got a friend who's in London at the moment and she told me today was YOUR day, and I'm ashamed I didn't post you a greeting earlier! She also said you've got peaceful demonstrations going on downtown - a couple guys climbing Big Ben. Anyhow, I hope you have a wonderful, relaxing day, and I hope the sun comes out for a bit at least! Oh, and these are for you...  |

Here in the states we celebrate Mothers' Day, the second Sunday in May (May 9) and Fathers' Day, the third Sunday in June (June 20).

Oh THANKYOU all of you ... and thankyou adhdtimes4 for those really beautiful flowers!! Marja - that is interesting that your MOTHERS DAY is the same as the US and our FATHERS DAY is the same as the US but your fathers day and our mothers day are way out of sync! ... and with Belgium celebrating fathers day a couple of days back ... Whoa!! This is a muddle !! Hey ... I reckon the best solution is that we ALL share each others which gives us more special days in the year! ;D adhdtimes4 : as for the couple of guys who climbed up Big Ben earlier ... ! They are either very brave or very crazy!!  Oh and Linda ... Sam has his work cut out today particularly being an only child!! ... Only problem is that he said earlier "What I want to know is when is Son's day?" .... ;D |

Oh THANKYOU Rachel !! ... and since I am 'sharing' this mothers day I want to say EXACTLY the same thing back to you! P.S. I just asked Sam (in semi-jest) if he would be cooking dinner ... He said he would (that bit surprised me!) ... and then I thought YIKES !! ... He made some muffins yesterday, put them in the oven and then "forgot" about them... the result was some very crispy, black muffins !! ... He assured me though that although the outside was burnt the inside was just fine!! ;D So ... dinner could be interesting ... ;D ;D |

and Thankyou Brocksmom and Aimee ... and dinner turned out ..."ok " ... (of course if you had heard me enthuse you would have thought it had been cooked by a chef in one of the top London restaurants ... ha ha !!) ... but just 'between us' there is room for improvement on the cooking skills side ! ;D... but he enjoys cooking so I think the improvement will come over time ... Thanks Everyone and now I can't wait until your Mothers Day comes along!! |
