Sorry I haven't been here for a few days but I have been ? sick? I have been having dizzy spells and yest I FAINTED at work! Can you belive it?! A 200 lb woman fainting. Anyway the clinic I work at is next to the er I used to work at, so to er I went to visit my old pals. Everything checked out fine. The only thing I can think of is exhaustion. After a full nights sleep I went home from the er and slept the day away... then went to bed early last night and slept all night too!!! I feel a little better today no dizzy spells soo sorry the bubble bath with chocolate and Baileys (and bread) does not work guys!!! I think next time I am going for a motel in the middle of nowhere with no tv or phone and just plain SLEEP! ;D Sue EVERYBODY REST THIS WEEKEND

I think there is something to it. Last year and the year before I did the same thing, both times while at work. Both times in late winter/early spring. Again, thank goodness I worked on an ambulance and my partner knew what to do and where to take me!
I slept away the next few days. We never knew whether it was a sudden drop in blood sugar, a transient seizure, a short cardiac event? EKG's, A1C, EEG's all come back negative. But being left alone to sleep for a few days, and rest for a few more really makes a difference.
Sorry you went through it, because it is scary. DH was more terrified than I was... of course he thinks about what would happen if he was left alone with all the boys to raise... that would scare the snot out of me too!
Rest, relax, and ask him to take the kids for a walk at the mall all weekend.

that is so weird that you mention that... I've been getting dizzy spells alot mostly before my time of the month... I just went for blood test today for that reason... the Dr. is thinking low iron but we'll see.....
when I was pregnant I got dizzy so bad it turned out to be middle ear infection, I had no pain!
We have to take care of ourselves 1st, if we want to take care of our kids

Wow, Sue, that was scary. I am glad that all the tests came out ok. Yes, listen to your body and do whatever you need to do to get more rest. One of my favorite sayings has been, "There is a difference between resting and collapsing." I have to tell myself that all the time. I don't get to rest cause it's just me and ds all the time. But please rest, Sue!!!

I caught a little of Dr. Phil last night. I don't usually watch him, and he gets on my nerves some, but last nights episode dealt with "adjusting to parent-hood" and it caught my eye. He was talking to a mom that from what I picked up on was apparently suffering from burn out. He told her she needed to get some rest and find time for herself here and there. He made a comment that really hit home:
"We are not banks. We can't keep doing withdrawal, after withdrawal, after withdrawal (meaning giving so much of ourselves, doing too much) without ever getting any deposits (meaning some time for ourself). If we do, we will eventually be overdrawn, and esentially we will crash."
Words for us all to remember and live by. Get some more sleep and take care...

I am very familiar with dizziness as I suffer from a vestibular (inner ear) disorder which means I suffer from dizziness very frequently (but I take medication for this when it happens) ... this has been going on for 25 years.. UGH!! ... However, dizziness can be caused by a whole bunch of other reasons too and I pretty sure that exhaustion can be one of them.... I liked the Dr Phil quote that Camismom gave us ... and oh so true!! Glad you were ok Sue ... and very glad that extra sleep is helping!
