That's funny actually. When I think about it, alot of people frown upon mixing of races and religions and all that kinda stuff. Especially over here, when I hear soomeone say something about this person and that person having a kid and they don't think these people should blahblahblah blatent racism. I know it's not just in America, but when people comment, do you think they look in the mirror to begin with to see what their heritage is? I doubt it.
Such a small minded world we live in Kaiti aka Princess Kathrine

Such a small minded world we live in Kaiti aka Princess Kathrine Hey Princess Kathrine !! ;D (Hey !!It sounds GOOD!) ... I so much agree ... People are just toooo quick to make judgements and wanting to keep a race "pure" (for what purpose I ask??) ... ! But like Marja says she is WISHING she had some different bits and pieces in her!! ... OK time for a story ... My Aunty is the most racial person I know ... she is absolutely "blinkered" and in fact I am ASHAMED she is my Aunty in that respect! ... However her son announced 3 years ago that he was getting married (again) ... to a black lady from South Africa ... My aunty (being the type of bigotted racial person she is!) reacted VERY badly ... She told him "You do realise you must have no children don't you?" ... Her son told her "Mum I am 40 years old ... my wife is 30 ... if she wants children she will HAVE children" .... Oh what I am describing is horrendously blinkered and tunnel visioned!! I am ashamed of my aunt!! .. Another story (sorry but am on a roll here!) ... one of my very closest girlfriends is an Egyptian (by birth and parentage) ... her father is Sudan black and her mother is more meditteranean ... (the result is absolutely beautiful!) ... Anyway her mother told her " Don't marry a black man" ... so she said "Mum ... what do you think Dad is??" ... "Oh well that's different" her mother replied !!!! ..... Needless to say my friend IS married to a black man (for 20 years now) and very happily thankyou!! ... their children are a happy mixture of Jamaican black (their father) and Egyptian (their mother) ... As for me ... I am mostly English (borrrring!!) ... with a dash of Spanish (my grandmother was spanish) ... she has given me my dark eyes and dark hair ... Like Marja I would genuinely love some more "exoticism" to add on!! ;D

Anne At least you have this little bit of spanish in you ;D Everytime, I´ve been abroad, I´ve been mixed to english, that´s the first reaction" you are english aren´t you" I dont mid. I love been what I´am, but I do respect all the people who are worth of respect, despite their religious, colour, culture... Luckily, also our country is mixing a little bit. By the way Anne, you would know; was Princess Di really an daycare theacher, as was mentioned Marja

By the way Anne, you would know; was Princess Di really an daycare theacher, as was mentioned Marja Hi Marja !! ;D YES!! Princess Diana definitely WAS a kindergaten teacher ... in fact when she and Charles got engaged the press were surrounding the kindergarten (hey!!I bet the kids found it exciting! ;D) ... HOWEVER ... although she was a kindergarten teacher she was ALSO from a very aristocratic family complete with name, title and money ! ... I don't think Charles would have been "allowed" to marry someone without these things!! ... But ... she was apparently ALWAYS very good with kids and ALWAYS related extremely well to them!! One of my favourite pictures of Diana was at one of our "theme parks" which she took William and Harry to (and which we visit quite often) ... there was a picture of the three of them riding at top speed on one of the rides and it was just lovely - all three laughing like mad and just "having fun" ... ;D

Oh Anne, that story hits here too.
I actually think it's really funny especially when the parents are SOOOOOOOOO one way, and the kids do the exact opposite.
My husband's uncle has 3 daughters. He was never shy about his feelings about white and black relations. Well of the 3, 2 of his girls have a total of 4 babies by black gentlemen. It's that bite you in the butt mentality. He has learned to love the kids, thankfully, but he still needs to bite his tongue every so often.
Princess Kathrine ;D

I agree, and William seems to have his mother's giving personality. I was quite surprised when I saw the pictures of him with those children a while back. Giving back to humanity couldn't be done in a better way.

Giving back to humanity couldn't be done in a better way. KaitiOh yes I also think William is lovely ... Many people here think that Charles will be bypassed and the title of King will/should be passed straight to William ! ... Heaven knows if that will ever happen - I actually kind of doubt it ... oh can you imagine the repercussions on THAT one?? Harry has been much more of a "handful" though eh? .. Gossip in the UK says he is the splitting image of Diana's boyfriend James Hewitt (who incidentally won a British reality show recently - the public who have been taught to hate him ended up loving him and voted him in to win!!) ... Oh what fickle creatures are we .... OR is it because the press paints one picture and then when confronted with the reality we say 'hang on ... he is actually ok' ... ?? Whatever the reason I found it an interesting observation!!

I have always loved following the royals. I guess it must be the Welsh in me but I have seen Harry in more of the "playing" I guess youngest child kind of mentality. Kaiti (I still like the Princess Kathrine thing) ;D

Princess Katherine (do we have to curtsy or bow when talking to you now ... hee hee!) ... ;D
Oh Yes !! Harry is definitely more of a "player" .. as you have probably seen he is now in Africa and our press says it is the "first time he has actually done something worthwhile" ... He gets a lot of criticism from our press (is it the same in the US?) and it sure can't be easy being "William's younger brother!" ...

I don't think there's as much press here about Harry because he isn't the first born type thing. On the entertainment shows, if I catch them, usually have some kind of story, but I haven't seen one of those for a while. I think that Harry has that Baby brother syndrome. If the big brother did it first, then no biggy if the baby does it, BUT if he does somthing that William hasn't, or like you say that he finally has done this thing for Africa, he'll be critisized either way. Oh well BOW DOWN MY SUBJECTS OH My that wasn't very royal was it? Princess Kathrine has left the thread-for now

I love to hear about the royal family. I also would like to visit the UK someday, especially London. The whole city and royalty fascinates me. I loved reading your posts. I did not get to see the movie, so all your comments were great! Shelli
