Did any one see the special last night on TV about Princess Diana and "The Tapes"?
I really had no idea she had so many problems with the Prince. Now they are having an investigation whether her death was accidental?

They haven't shown "the tapes" in the UK but we have been told they were showing them in the US .. !! but our media has had plenty to say as you can imagine! ... There was a documentary shown a while ago which really really made the whole "accident" seem like a conspiracy ... but lately they have completely turned this around and the dossier in Paris (which has only very recently been made public) seems to show that all the conspiracy theories were in fact wrong and were egged on by Mohammed Al Fayed! ... Confusing eh!? However, what I find VERY interesting is that on those tapes Diana stated that she believed Charles (and others) were aiming towards a "car accident" for her ! ... Hmmmmm ..... Our papers are also saying that her close friends have confirmed that Diana was of a "very unstable mind" in the years and months leading up to her death ... Oh i have no idea !! There are too many question marks and ifs and buts and maybes eh?!?! Interesting though and from what I understand she DID have a very tough time with Charles - especially with Camilla in tow! ... but we have a friend who used to work for Diana who says she was a very, very difficult lady ... I sometimes wonder whether the relationship was 6 of one and half a dozen of the other!! ...

Well speaking from experience when your DH is having affairs and all the lying that intails then you don't always tend to be too "right in the head anyway" I always thought she carried herself very well and got on with her life after it all blew up about the Prince and his woman. It's hard enough to be humiliated by a man when only a few people know about it but to have the whole world know it. WOW

Yes - that is very sad that she was bulimic (I am also not sure about the spelling !! LOL!) . She also tried to commit suicide 6 times ... but as stew4me says living your life in public like that (warts and all) is enough to send anyone off the rails !! ... I would be really interested to hear more about the contents of those tapes (since they are banned right now from being broacast here!) ...

Hi Can you even start to imagine that kind of a life It would be totally afful! I admire thing´s that she made, like protesting against landmine`s, taking care of the children of Africa etc. But shure dont envy the life she had! What I´ve read, she wasn´t too bright, or good at school. that must have been even harder, when you dont have a branch where you can really shine, just look good and behave, what ever happend´s I havent seem the tape´s eather, I´am not shure if I even want to, but she had a life of an princess, so ofcourse she interest´s me ;D Marja

The show said she was a kdgn. teacher before she married. I don't know how she even kept her sanity with her husband cheating on her!!

It's such a shame to see things thrown out in the public after someone of her presence has died.
I remember I made my mom wake me up when Diana and Charles were married. Same with Fergie and Andrew. I think it was quite early, especially for me being so young at the time.
Any how. If I see anything I'll let y'all know. Kaiti

The night before her funeral I drove through London ... it was like a ghost town ... I have NEVER witnessed anything quite like it ... Friday night in London (like any city) is normally absolutely buzzing ... but NOT on that night ... it was deserted and silent .... it is something I will never forget ...
I also (totally coincidentially) was driving past the military airport at Northolt (in NW London) - I lived nearby - when her body arrived back in the UK from Paris ... we were listening to it on the radio in the car and realising this was happening a few hundred yards from where we were ... again something I won't forget ...
This thread is bringing back some very distinctive memories....

Please correct me, Wales is what part of England? state, territory, or what. I don't mean to sound ignorant, but I do not have a knowlege of how England is differentiated. Like our states, counties, town, ect. And it is an Island correct? Sorry to sound like an idiot, I just can't remember, and I figure I'll ask someone with maybe a little knowledge of England ;D Kaiti

Sorry to sound like an idiot, I just can't remember, and I figure I'll ask someone with maybe a little knowledge of England ;D Kaiti Hi Kaiti ... The United Kingdom is made up of 4 "kingdoms" (for want of a better word!) : England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland ... No Wales is NOT an island ... it is the part which "sticks out" on the middle left hand side of the UK ... Ireland IS an island and is situated over the sea to the left of Wales ... Wales has its own language (Welsh) which is a very pretty sing-songy sort of language ... but they also speak English (with a Welsh accent). Wales is the equivalent of Scotland ... i.e. it is part of the 'United Kingdom' but is not part of England! I hope that helps!! Oh by the way within England and within Wales and within Scotland and within Ireland we have "Counties" ... these are similar to the US states but MUCH smaller LOL !! ... There are a lot of them ... probably 30 (not sure of exact number) in England alone ... I live in the county of Kent which is apparently the largest county but is only 50 miles x 30 miles. Does this help?? ... (P.S. its a pleasure to help you out .. I get confused by the US as well!! ) ... ;D

YES, YES YES Big HELP.
My Nana always reminded us we were of Welsh decent, her maiden name was Ledden. I'm not sure how our bloodline goes except for the fact that I'm pretty much a mixed mutt. Blackfoot Indian German-predominantly Swedish Welsh I think that's it. Although I'm not sure but there maybe a couple of other lines in there too.
Guess I won't be winning any Breeder Cup awards will I ;D Kaiti

Oh isn't this what makes people interesting ? All the bits and pieces thrown in to make up a person? ;D ... and you have (amongst other things) WELSH in you !! You should be proud of this (as all Welsh people are!) ... Wales is a beautiful place BUT it gets MORE than its fair share of rain and wind and cloudy skies!! ... Hey an example of a Welsh Lady who is very proud of it is Catherine Zeta Jones .. ! Pure Welsh ! ... I understand she and Michael Douglas have bought a house there and she "wanted" her children to be educated there .. (although I don't think she won that particular battle!) ...

I am quite proud of it, as a matter of fact. We used to laugh and say me or my sister should be entitled to SOMETHING over there....Princess Kathrine,
I like the ring of it Signed the Princess Kathrine (with all due respect to Princess Diana)
