I have a flower that won't die

I saw my guy last weekend because we thought we weren't going to get to see each other this until mid-March.

I have a rose...made out of copper leaf. He'd just finished making it when he heard my rant against live flowers. They're depressing. They die. Even the ones that are plants and not cut (I've killed cactii by not watering them enough). But now I have a copper rose that won't die. I also got an incredibly soft teddy bear. He's managed to arrange his work schedule to where he can come up this weekend too. I'll still have to work, but I can play with him the rest of the time!

I completely understand about cut flowers. My husband always gives me live flowering plants that I put in a special garden outside. I call this my sweetheart garden. We've been married a long time and now the garden is full of wonderful memories of his love.

It sounds like this is a special guy. I'm glad he understands how you feel. Is he an artist? You said he made the flower.

He's not really an artist, but he does stuff with metal for SCA and such, I think (ie, he works on armor).

Ohmama - even live plants are not a good idea with me. As I said, I've killed cactii by not watering them enough.

He'll get into town tonight while I'm still at work. I think we're both crashing at a friend's house. I have to work tomorrow from 8.30am-12.30am. Yuck.
