I used to love Tony Stewart, still wear a bright orange #20 fleece. But I really have transferred my adoration to his teammate. He just seems so sincere, his title never really went to his head. He has adorable dimples, and such a wonderful sense of irony. Joe Gibbs racing has come such a long way that it is hard not to root for them.
I live between Pocono and Dover, and have never been to a race. BooHoo.
I really like Kevin LePage as well. He is from Shelburne, Vermont which is where I worked for the Vermont Teddy Bear Company. My buddy's up there all raced cars, most of them had raced against Kevin over the years.
And then I found out last week, my mechanic here is a Busch race winner! I feel good about him working on my car now. I could be a NAPA fan just for him, but I do not like Michael Waltrip much at all. Robby Gordon is about the only driver I really think races dirty, but there are several that leave me cold.
If Bobby Labonte doesn't win this year, I will agree with my birthday mate... Dad2Brooke... go Tony!

Whaddya mean Tony Stewart races CLEAN? Hubby laughed when I read him this thread. I'll have to get back with my thoughts of the new points crap, I don't know enough about the details to make a stubborn decision that says I'm right and they are wrong!!! ;D Don't think it's fair sounding though. rosyred45Were you refering to a post of mine with this statement:
"Whaddya mean Tony Stewart races CLEAN?"
LOL, I said I liked him because he has attitude. But, I think Tony will race you how you race him, and it's probably not a good idea to make him mad. Although the anger management seems to have either worked or he is just maintaining a low profile. (If there is such a thing in NASCAR)

Shelly/Tinkerbell,
OK, can you send me some of that free Pfizer stuff? I've been a fan of Mark's before Pfizer/Viagra, and I still wear the old stuff. Something about wearing clothes with Viagra plastered on them bothers me! ;D Go figure...

Ralph... your running banner looks a little wishy washy to me. Aren't you brave enough to show our boys LEADING the race across the finish line? Right now it looks like a dead heat!
Come on... fix it so the Gibbs boys win!

Come on... fix it so the Gibbs boys win! Laurie I have tried! I put all kinds of spaces and returns in there and they still move like that. Funny thing is, on an old post of mine when I wanted them lined up they wouldn't. Maybe I need to go look at that.

NASCAR= National Association of Stock Car Auto Racing
It roots are in the southern moonshiners(makers of illegal sour corn mash) who used to drive souped up cars to evade the revenuers during prohibition (when alcohol was illegal in the US) to deliver their product to a thirsty public.
After the repeal of the 21st? amendment and alcohol was legal once more. Moonshine was still illegal but cheaper than legal alcohol so it's popularity never waned.
The drivers of these souped up cars decided to form a racing league in 1949, and Big Bill France (the France family still owns the whole thing) was there to start it. Over the years it has grown into the number 2 sport in the US behind only US football, and will probably over take that.
Todays NASCAR drivers race all over the nation. The premiere circuit of NASCAR is the Nextel Cup division (ne Winston Cup.) There are 36 races a year (Just about every Sunday from mid February until mid November.
The first official race of the year is like the Super Bowl (with out Janet Jackson's breast) and is called the Daytona 500, where speeds reach upwards of 200 miles an hour.
The fans of the "boys of thunder" are rabid and legion.
Thus endith the lesson. LOL
