I spoke too soon...We got eight inches last night, (I think that is about 20 cm) and we are getting 8 more today, and 8 MORE tomorrow. I don't beleive that it will happen, but it is still snowing. All the schools are closed. The were last Friday too for cold weather. We'll see what tomorrow brings. I hope it lets up b/c we are traveling for Honey's new doc appt tomorrow and it is a 1 1/2 hour drive on dry pavment, let alone if it gets slippery.

Honeysmom It´s true what they say in here: be carefull what you wish ;D although I´am not shure you even wanted snow. In here they dont usually close door´s b/c of winter-weather, we just get our winter-gier´s on at nov. and drive on with those. Drive carefully in there! Marja

I love the snow as long as it is not interfearing with my driving.
I think the main reason they close the schools is b/c so many kids have to take the bus. Like Honey is on the bus for an hour each way and that is a long, and potentially dangerous, trip when it is really slippery.
As far as the cold goes, it is pretty rare that they close the schools for that, but that is mainly for the kids that live in town. There are many poor famlies around here and they leave their kids home when they go to work in the morning. Some of the kids walking in are really young, as young as Honey!! A know a little girl in his class walks 8 blocks alone everyday to get to school. I can't beleive that! I am afraid to let Honey leave the yard let alone walk to school. I think if she waled those 8 blocks she'd have frost bite by the time she got there, at 7 AM on Friday it was still -forty something!
