According to Symantec, the makers of Norton, several news articles AND my personal experience, there is a wicked email virus spreading like wildfire. If you have Norton, you need to run LiveUpdate ASAP, and then do a virus scan. I don't know the procedure for other Antivirus programs. I know that we often get bogus virus warnings, so if you're in doubt, as I usually am, check out: www.symantec.com. The warning and links to further information are on the home page. I've received over 200 emails with viruses attached. Thank you, Mr. Norton, for catching them instead of me!

pretty sure i got one this morning, but didn't open it. The email was suppose to be from Microsoft but just had a message to open the attachement. It seemed kind of funky so I just deleted it.

Thanks adhdtimes4 !! I will run Norton's Live up date straight away ... Speaking of virus's etc. does anyone else have their computer "attacked" quite frequently ?? Ever since getting Broadband (and thank goodness I have Norton Anti-virus and Norton Security) my computer has had an "attempted attack" around once a week!! ... One time it tried to deposit a "worm" ... I was able to pinpoint that one attack was from New York and the other was from Atlanta ... (and I am in the UK!)

Yes, my computer gets attacked a whole lot; I finally had my husband to get it to stop telling me about the attempts! Thank goodness, once again, for Norton and other firewalls.
I've also noticed that my email is really slow today - I'm receiving them up to an hour after they have been sent. I suppose this is related to the virus.

Yes, this one's for real. I work in the computer room for a school district and we just sent out a warning to our employees.

Zone Alarm is a good free firewall if anyone needs one. AVG is a good little free anti-virus. It will ask you for an email address - I've installed it on many computers and never gotten spam or anything other than the code. Panda is good to run on your computer every once in a while. Tell it to check for heuristics and let it run over night. It finds things that other antivirus programs don't. The new virus can only be received by opening email attachments, as far as I know. If it's from someone you know, email them back and ask them if they just sent you an attachment. The virus will change subject lines and all sorts of fun stuff.
