Does he concentrate better in summer school with the pace picked up and less kids to distract him..summer school here cost 100. per class.

I'm not sure if he concentrates any better, but summer school did help him last year, probably because it was all review and easier for him to follow what's going on. I wonder if it also helped him not having been away from the classroom for very long once he started in the fall--not as much relearning how to think  . |

Yes, that's right. I'm just being selfish because I want a break from school. I'm not crazy about spending the money either.

You are not selfish in wanting your child and you to have a break from school at all !  We all want a break and summer school shouldn't be so expensive ! I realize that they have to pay the teachers but if the kids truley need it ..then the school should cover the cost. ( I know the schools are all broke) Next year will be a better year  We all just want so much for our kids to be happy and most times they are..it is us with the problems.. ;D I cant wait till summer break myself . I need a break ! It sucks when things dont go like we want but like they say about lemons and lemonade..if it helps him then go for it... |

I am dealing with the same issues with my son. He lies about homework all the time. I have had the teacher call me about missing homework and everything. I have just decided to do the best I can. you cant please everyone. sometimes people cant see what you are dealing with and they judge you. I can tell you are doing your best because you are out here looking for answers.  to you |
