I don't know what it is, but lately Cami has started getting these hyper, bouncing off the walls, swinging from the ceilings, jumping over the couch, silly, LOUD, crazy-acting rebounds in the afternoon. Usually around five when her medicine begins wearing off. She just gets out of control! She didn't use to be this bad... I mean she's always been a little more hyper in the afternoons when the med is wearing off, but never like this! She just gets plain crazy! Loud, bouncy, and stupidly silly. It is getting quite annoying and starting to drive me nuts! Worst thing is, you can tell her "you need to calm down a bit" and it's like she doesn't even hear you. I think back to all the times I used to think things would get better and calmer as she got older and more mature. HA! That was a good one! Sometimes I wonder if we're going to make it thru these teen years. I should've had a boy. Better yet, I should've just stuck with a cat. ok, I feel better now. Well, not really but at least I got it off my chest! ;D ;D

;D ;D What makes you think it is any easier with a boy? ;D ;D ;D ;D
Tell cami to get on her bike and ride ride ride...or some other physical activity. She knows when the meds are wearing off....been there ;D ;D

I have concluded that as they grow ..the little hyper box that is inside them grows to..they bounce harder and higher and they yell louder and longer ..Thank God for spring and warm weather and the out of doors. Not that they go there ..but I do to escape them. ;D

Hey Camismom! Yikes - around 5pm is when I start slowing down - it would be hard to deal with extra craziness at that time. Hang in there!! I hope better days are ahead to ease those frazzeled nerves - I've been there for sure! (My cat drives me crazy anyhow).

With Dan, he always has some sport practice after school, and it wears him down so he is tired when his meds wear off, get Cami to do something active during that time. I like the sugestion on bike riding, or how about playing music and dancing for a while? By the way, you notice I only have 2 kids, but 6 cats? There is a reason.

Paul ALWAYS knew when his meds wore off...and he was on his bike going through the trails.

Christy... you must have bugged my house! I am always saying, "If I knew then, what I know now... I would have had cats and not kids!"
Today is my cat "Uncle Sam" birthday! He is 8. Always been easier than any one of the boys. He stays out all night, every night and I don't have to worry about him. He brings me "gifts" many mornings, grabs a quick bite and goes to sleep quietly in the corner. Mid afternoon he asks to go out for a quick restroom break, and then back to sleep... what a life.
I can go away for a week, and he takes care of himself. He doesn't call to bother me when I am napping, and he NEVER asks for a ride to the movies... he HATES the car!
Yup! I love my cat!
Happy Birthday, Uncle Sam! You're the best!

I want a cat like yours! I rescued mine at my vet's and I never know if she is going to claw me or love me! She must've had a hard kittyhood. It's been over a year and maybe I see a teeny bit of a softer side. Camismom - how's it going today?

Christy, I´am sorry to hear her terrific rebound´s I think it´s partly the growing and a teen-thing and I agree dancing, jogging, riding a bike...etc. would propably help, how to get her do these thing´s if she doesn´t want to That´s an other thing all together ;D

Well, if nothing else, you guys give me a good laugh with all your replies. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Sorry I didn't answer sooner, I had a very busy day at work and couldn't get on while there. DArn work going and getting in the way of my personal life again! ;D Linda, I guess I assume it's easier with a boy because I see more boys outside skateboarding and riding bikes than I see girls. The girls are too busy inside keeping the phone and computer tied up! As far as dancing, oh, believe me, she is doing plenty of that! Dancing on the furniture, over the furniture, back and forth thru the house..... ;D ;D And yes, she usually has her music blaring from the stereo in her room or from the computer, while carrying on five or six IM convos and talking to her best friend on the phone. Don't tell me this child can't multi-task! ;D ;D ;D ;D Cheryl, to answer your question. Tonight was better because she went to a school dance tonight. I went and worked out after work so by the time I got home there was only a little over an hour before time for her to go. Andy went to get her a little while ago though so my peace and quiet won't last much longer. Trid, I'm right there with you about the cat. That is EXACTLY what I always say. We have two and they take completely care of themselves. The only thing I have to do for them is feed them a couple times a day, make sure they have water, and clean out their litter box about three times a week. In return, they give me love yet they are quiet and calm about it. hehehe Tell Uncle Sam happy birthday for me!! Oh well, this time last year I wasn't thinking she would make it to 13 and she did, so I guess she'll probably make it to 14 too! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Christy---do you have a trampoline she can jump on? I bet that would do wonders for her. Have Cami take out her stereo with her favorite CD and jump jump jump. My kids will go out and jump even right after supper (me I would be sick if I did that right after I just ate ha). I used to love jumping on it---I would even get up early in the morning and jump for 30 min. It is great excersise but due to my shoulder problems jumping is out until I have another surgery (proably this summer sometime). If you have a trampoline and have already tried that all I can do is send you and hope that you get thru this soon. Good Luck Tell us how her dance at school went. Was it a spring dance where she dressed up??

Cami is an only child with two sets of parents... there is hardly anything she doesn't have. Her trampoline was a big hit years ago when she first got it. It's hardly ever touched now! Mainly when she has a friend over. That is the biggest problem with Cami and getting her to do something away from the computer. She always wants someone else to do it with her. Well, I can't jump on a trampoline. Let's just say having a 9 lb. 11-1/4 oz. baby wreaked havoc on my bladder years ago ;D, and other things I am just not always available for. I mean SOMEBODY'S gotta do the cleaning and laundry and yardwork around here! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I am glad my kids can entertain each other. If I had to do it ..OMG..I want someone to show me the little elf that is suppose to do all the stuff around here that people think just happens.. today I got breakfast and got everyone going, did laundry and dishes, did the animal care, I shopped forsupplies for a job site and delivered product , then went to grammas to get her up fed brkfst, showered and cared for then fed lunch, and put her back to bed for an afternoon nap, then went to another nursery to pick up more supplies ,then mowed a yard, then went to plant all the shrubs and flowers bought this am, then picked Jared up at school , then mowed my yards and planted stuff here, then did the shopping ,then cooked dinner , then made sure everyone was bathed etc, ..now everyone is goiing to bed and I have the clean up ..and I haven't even started my housework yet. Yeah .. I am SO GLAD that my kids can entertain themselves..
