I don't know. I'm assuming you have some sort of "cut and paste" feature...Try highlighting the part you don't want then just cut or delete it.

I think that copying would be better, although this is from no expert, so there's your warning. I usually don't quote, um because I don't know how either I guess I could go practice

I think what you are doing is hitting the "quote" feature at the top of the particular post you want to quote from? Then it automatically puts the whole post in quotes...
What I do is hit the "reply" button, then click on the paper looking icon with the blue arrow pointing to the right... This is right above where you are typing while replying (gosh I hope this is making sense!!) When you hit that button you get this [ quote][/quote] (without the space)...
Then I cut out what I want in quotes, by highlighting it with my mouse, then right clicking on the highlight... You get a few options such as cut, copy, paste etc... I cut it, then click between the two brackets where it says quote and paste it there...
Did that explain it? Sorry I stink at giving directions!

I see what is missing! You did great though!
Edit your quoted post (by clicking on modify), and add in the ] right between the "e" in the first quote and the "w" in the word "What"... Sometimes when you paste, if it isnt in the EXACT spot (very picky program! LOL) it will delete the brackets "[ ]" on you... It takes practice!

edited to add that bracket key is above the enter key to the right of the keyboard, just a hair left of it...

What I do is delete the part I don't want. After you hit the "quote" button and it displays the whole post, just click at the beginning of what you don't want and drag your mouse to highlight that part. Stop where you want it to end and then simply hit the delete button. If the sentence you are quoting is right in the middle, then stop there, and start again after it. Make sense?
