It's just my personal opinion, but the home page seems to be very busy with scrolling messages and lots of new categories. I don't have anything against any of the messages or any of the categories, but I find it rather confusing and distracting and wonder especially if it has that effect on new people coming here for the first time. But, like I said, it's just a personal opinion. I don't do well with all the visual distractions. I also don't take the time to do lots of category jumping and kind of preferred broader categories where the topics were a little more varied in content. I still think this is a wonderful forum and am so glad it's here, so don't take this as a complaint....just a suggestion towards simplification.

I agree with you Cat, it is very busy. Very "ratteling". It does look good, don't get me wrong. Just way too much going on at once in the same area. Maybe seperate things a little???

Personally I like all the motions... But I am NOT adhd, my sd is... Since this is an adhd site, and we want to welcome adult adhd'ers also, maybe the separating idea would be a good one??

The home page doesn't really bother me...however, I really don't tend to pay attention to it. I just immediately go to the areas that I'm interested in. I don't know how many days the latest topics were there before I noticed them.
I like the broader range of topics, it makes things more specific when you are looking for something in particular, and it makes it easier to decide where to post a new thread.
I really do like the clouds in the background when I'm reading or writing a post. It just kind of makes things more relaxed or something.
And while it IS distracting, I love the idea of the Amber ticker across the top. The site is mainly (but not totally) about children and if that is one small way that we can help these poor children to be found, I'm all for it!

Thanksyou all for bring your concerns about the home page.
With the scrolling in 2 different directions it was kinda eyepopping. I have stopped the main scroll.
I have no control over the scrolling in the Amber Alert boxes. I hope that it doesn't bother anyone too much. But I hope the good they may do will outweigh the scrolling.
Additionally, I have added quite a few things to the home page in an effort to personalize the site more to its members.
Some realigning of areas also was done in a effort to group similar topics together.
However, most major additions and changes have been made. With the exception of a better way to chat, which I am still looking into.
I do appreciate everyone's patience.

D2B  I think you´re doing a great job, I know I couldn´t ;D I just saw this new site with only AmberAlert scrolling, it´s good! It feel´s like everytime I come here, every day that is ;D, this look´s different. It does not bother me, it feel´s like I´am coming home to relax, every time It´s really these people who make this site working, your input is only a bonus  Marja |

Dad2Brooke, you really do a fantastic job on the site. I like the new changes, particularly stopping the double scrolling in two directions that was making my eyes roll around in my head. It looks good! Thank you for all your hard work.
