You may have to be a michigander to understand this, but basically michigan is 2 peninsula's... A lower peninsula (which we live in), and an upper peninsula, which for us lower people gets shortened to the "u.p" (saying each letter, not the word)... Ok got that?? Anyway we went on a day trip, to the u. p. (again saying the letters).... Acrossed the bridge, went to waterfalls and the "soo locks" (a place where BIG boats come in and have to be lowered or raised as lake huron and lake SUPERIOR (DOH WRONG LAKE FIRST TIME ) are not the same levels)... It was a great trip fun for all!! Explaining to my son where we had been, and having him tell the story to other people is just a RIOT!! Since we are saying "you went to the u.p." My son counters with "I went to the I.p" Thinking we are asking him about a bodily function!! ;D ;D THEN he said to his daycare lady, that "I peed on the bridge" or "I peed over the bridge" ;D ;D ... OHHHHH I hope this makes sense for non michiganders, because really it is HYSTERICAL!! cat

Yes, that makes perfect sense! Isn't it funny how kids interpret things in a way that we would never think of? Thanks for sharing! ;D

If U watch the Weather Channel, U should understand the about the U.P. of Michigan... although the first time I heard the weather guy talk about the U.P. of Michigan, I wondered if it was the University Premier of Mich... or something like that. Then DH got offered a job in Muskegon... I don't know which P that belongs to... but it didn't have enough mountains to interest us, so instead we moved South to stay in ski country

That is too funny and true. I can't remember if I told this or not but when Nate was learning to add we used ourselves as an example. We said Mommy plus Daddy equal..... Nate replies "Me"... He was 4 at the time. Miles
