Somewhere there was a thread where Christy talked about how many last names she's had, and today I thought how much trouble I would have with that. I was at the dr's office and the nurse asked when I changed my name. I was totally baffled until she showed me a form I had just filled out. I had used my maiden name after being married for 10 years! I blame it on the fact that I have been working on a reception for my parents' 50th anniversary and I have that name stuck in my mind. I'm laughing here. DD4 is sitting on my lap and imitating this smiley:

Levi and I were imitating that same smiley this morning ;D. He wanted to let the cat ride with us when I took him to school and I said no way. I had this website on and he seen that smiley and started frowning and saying he was sad~~I said why? then he says I am that smiley there. I start laughing because then I start shaking my head nooooo the cat is not going !!

;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D The worst thing about it for me is when I receive phone calls from Cami's teachers, or friend's parents, etc. and they ask for "Mrs. XXXXXX (Cami's last name)" I just cringe!!! Then rather than going thru the "that's not my last name any more" I say begrudgingly, "this is her."

No, Linda, those were not better days. I hated being single! There ARE moments now when I wish I had some time to myself, though.

HAHA - I have had 3 different names in the past 5 years! My Ex husband left us 5 years ago after 7 years of marriage and I vowed never to get married again and wanted his last name removed from mine immediately! So I took my maiden name back, 1 year later I met the man that completed me, my missing link. Least to say we were married a year ago So I took his name and was proud of it. The good thing is when a solicitor calls and uses the other 2 names I say - You have the WRONG number and hang up. Because i am on speed dial of my DD's school they know my last name is different than hers! I still do get the first graders and parents calling me her last name. I just acknowledge them but my DD says NO she does not have my last name she has Dad's and that really confuses them all!

My BIL is the fire chief in their small town, everyone in the county emergency business knows him! My sister kept her phone number when they bought their house, and so it is listed in our maiden name.
When their oldest son was about 4 1/2 yrs. old he dialed 911 just to see what would happen. When the dispatcher answered, he hung up. A minute later her phone was ringing. "Mrs. Maiden Name, do you have an emergency?" No. "Do you have a young child in the house?" Yes. "Please congratulate him on being able to dial 911, but will now teach him WHEN to dial it?" Okay.
Hang up and thank God that the dispatcher didn't know that Mrs. Maiden Name was also Mrs. Fire Chief!
Dad Fire Chief was furious with my nephew, but really glad he didn't change the name in the phone book!
