;D I had to laugh last night. Had 3 10 year ols girls sitting around my kitchen table trying to work on an outline for a science project. One of them ADHD/slightly dyslexic (ds), another severely dyslexic and the third just a goofy 10 year old. IT WAS LIKE HEARDING CATS! Ds took apart her pencil and drew on her report paper, the dyslexic girl talked about her dogs and how to catch dog hair (I wouldn't be surprised if she is ADHD too) and the other just giggled. It took us 45 minutes to write about 8 sentances. (the science project is on indoor air pollution) I wanted to bang my head against the wall last night but today it all seems funny. ;D ;D ;D The important thing is we got it done. I hope the teacher likes our idea of gluing cotton balls to craft sticks and putting them by air vents, above toilets and above stoves. We will see how much "indoor air pollution" collects over a week at these spots and make a report on it.

sounds like you had a blast.
I was "talking" to my kids at work today, and this one boy who I KNOW is ADD asked to review the material I had concerning "Nice ways to gain compliance and help kids develop self management of their Behavior"
Oh lord, he needs it too ;D

i remember my fist science fair project i was in 5th grade i ended up doing it on the subject of solvents and such. end result was to explain why oil and water wouldnt mix. it ended up being very wordy and complicated and like most things done in a scientific nature, it talked excessivly about the subject and provided demonstrations that did explain why, however only in the sense that one would describe the reason rain falls out of the sky, by stating its heavy, while technically true it is functionally useless. most people didnt understand it and walked away having felt maybe they should have payed more attention in school. but i won 1st place at the school and got second at the regional or what ever comes after the local school one. hey if you want an idea you can do one on weight verses volume. call me crazy (most do) but i dont think they should have a standard for weight verses volume, like when you go to the store and see 1 litre of say...vinager at lets say 12 oz. then you go and look at the 1 litre of water and its the same ( i dont know off the top of my head how much a litre of water weighs i made that up) i know that although matter may occupy the same volume it does not have the same weight. ok ok i know this is real picky but its just one of those thing that gets on my nerves. lasers are always good to do science projects on plus they are cheap now. if you need any ideas let me know i am full of science project type information. the weird stuff like how to make model rocket fuel, high voltage stuff and lighting things

a really cool project would be a mini ionocraft. i made an ion engine it worked for a bit, then like most things i make it eventually caught fire. hmmm... ya know i dont think i would feel good about a project if it didnt atleast once catch fire or explode...something about that.....hmmm... any way alexander de seversky did this really cool thing, he made an ion engine, it uses high voltage to create thrust. actually its the electrons traveling from point a to point b that create the thrust, and i know, if your an engineer everyone knows that electron flow is from point b to point a or for the more enlightened electron they skip points a and b altogether and head straight to c which is where they all end up any way because its the closest bar before their actual destination which is slightly to the left and above point d. (cough)..hmm hmmm... anyway you can use flyback transformer off a tv or a few other sources for the high voltage juice, like old neon sign power supplies, and all the info you need to create one is on the web and the supplies consist of aluminum foil and balsa wood, and trust me this is a project that if you get to work( which shouldnt be a problem cause its a simple design) that will impress the natives and be a real crowd pleaser. any questions let me know daniel
