Yes, Christy is right, it said something like "after all the ups and downs this year, Happy Anniversay, Love Jamie" etc., but this business of the toilet seat has been going on for 25 years! Does anyone else have this as an issue in their house? Men don't really understand why you would put a toilet lid down after you use a toilet, as you will just have to raise it up again the next time that you come back.

Fall in just ONCE and you will know what the big deal is all about.
I only ask for it to be put down at night, since I take a sleeping pill, and if I have to go at night, I don't function well enough to remember to check the seat. I have fallen in, and had to have DH take me into the shower to clean me up, and now HE is the one insisting the boys put the seat down for his sanity!

Ah, come on, who is going to fall into a toilet? I don't think a man has ever done that.

I read this, hesitated, went back to work, then had to come back and reread this topic. I think that men are in the minority on this one, but I thought I would weigh in. I have to confess that I have been trained in the classic art of putting the seat down. I even brought that trait into the marrage BUT, and I say this with hesitation for fear of a huge backlash, WHY? I put some thought into this. When I go to the bathroom, anyone for that matter, I don't just whip down my pants and sit down. I look, I make adjustments if needed (wipe the seat, put it down) and then sit. After I am done, I put the seat and lid down, but that is just out of forced habit. Why couldn't the the same effort be developed to look before sitting? Ok.... Lay it on now, I'm feeling spunky!! Linda, that is exactly what happened to me. I take 10 mg of Ambien at night, and I don't even remember getting up in the night... DH told me he fished me out the one night, and then took me in to shower off. I have no recollection of it, but I also know that other events have happened when I am taking my meds, so I trust he didn't make up the story.
All I ask is for night time seats to be put down... I can compromise with the 4 men in my house.
