;D My 91/2 year old daughter went horse back riding yesterday with the Girl Scouts. She came home all excited. "I had this horse names Echo and I could understand her! It was like she had ADHD too!" I tried to get her to elaborate but she couldn't. I think some animals understand more about people's dispositions than people give them credit for.

I know my fish are ;D We have about 10. As soon as they see us in the morning, they start swimming laps waiting for us to feed them. Then they follow us as we walk past the tank and hang out in the corner until we walk back. Such loyal fish, they'd probably run away if they could Although we unfortunately lost the algea eater to suicide. We found him laying almost life less on the floor because he , gulp, jumped Oh well, gotta buy more fish then

I am not sure about adhd but one of my two cats definitely has a lot of anxiety ... totally opposite to his brother who is the most laid back "nothing is going to get to me" creature who ever walked the earth! ... the one with anxiety will never stray far from home, jumps a mile if there is a sudden sound and is constantly twitchy and worried ... I have no idea why! ... and how can two brothers be such total opposites?! So ... yes ... I am a firm believer that animals too have the same issues that we humans so often have! ...

Kaiti, you crack me up! My kitty is ADHD too. He is constantly running through the house for no reason what so ever. All of a sudden he runs into the wall, as if he didn't see it. The other night I was sound asleep (had my windows open to let in some fresh air) when the screen got popped out of the window. I came flying up out of the bed thinking someone was trying to break in on me. Once I got calmed down, I realized that Diego had pushed the screen out enough to jump out. I think it scared him quite a bit cause he ran under the house immediately. Didn't find him til the next morning, but luckily he didn't run away or commit suicide like Kaiti's algae eater!

I have a dog that I am sure is ADHD. I keep threatening to giver her some of Dans adderall. I also have a cat with sensory issues. She cant stand the feeling of grass or shag carpet on her paws. The few times she has gone outside, she stayed on the cement patio. One of our other dogs has very sensitive hearing. Thunder, gun shots, fireworks, lawnmower, etc just drive him nuts. He is almost as big as I am and just wines during stormes. I have to put him in the garage, and when I go out to get him he tries to jump into my arms. Knocked me into a puddle last time. LOL.

This reminds me of a story my brother in law told me about his neighbors dog (don't anyone do this). Every time my BIL went in his back yard the neighbors dog, a doberman pincher with a very mean disposition, would growl and bark and jump up and down like it was crazy. It got so bad he couldn't go outside without this dog bothering him.
Well, he got really tired of it and took a prozac and put it in some raw hamberger and threw it over the fence. I guess the dog liked it. After that the dog never acted crazy or mean!
