Two of my very dearest friends/ former employees are marrying this evening.
They have been in love since before I met them, before they worked with and for me.
She is an absolute doll, beautiful country girl, with long dark curls that make me soooooo jealous!
He is very tall, blond, blue eyes, dimples, mustache, a great big teddy bear type guy (we call him Shrek because he tries to be grumpy at times but just can't be mean~ it isn't in him)
Last evening, about 8 o'clock, I got a call on my Nextel... What time does the invitation say our wedding starts tomorrow?
I say 6 p.m. "what?" I said "Eighteen hundred hours"
Is that the wedding or the reception?
I say, THE WEDDING!
Okay, well, when is the reception?
I'm thinking... WHO WROTE THE INVITATION? Did the printer make up a time and place, and she is just now finding out she is supposed to get married?
OMG. I almost drove off the road I was laughing so hard! How can you forget when your own wedding is supposed to be!
This should be a very interesting evening! I wonder if they have a priest available?
I figure I better throw the DJ equipment into the car just in case they forgot to hire someone else to do that job for them! (HMM... I wonder if that was what she figured I would do, and just was too embarrassed to ask!)

You know, when I got married, I went and BOUGHT my wedding rings on April Fool's Day. Just seemed like the right time to buy our own ball and chains! I think I can find a cigar band for emergency use tonight. Thanks for the suggestion. Did I mention, when their best man and matron of honor got married, they asked me at noon on the day of the wedding to video the wedding? When I showed with all the equipment to do it, the groom politely (really it was polite) that his brother was going to do the taping... So in walks his brother, with his video camera over his right shoulder, and his white cane in his left hand! Boy, do I feel embarrassed being replaced by a blind videographer!

For the humorous story of this wedding, look at General Non ADHD at the thread To worry or not to worry?

Be sure to send a reminder to your friend next year on her anniversary! I should probably put it on my PDA with a reminder bell to remind me to remind her to show up for her anniversary... and him too!
