Hi everyone, I haven't checked in here in ages (but it feels just like yesterday) Anyways, we have been stuggling this whole year with my oldest son Josh who is ADD with some social anxiety/borderline depression. We have upped his Concerta to 54mg and then even added 10mg Ritalin in the afternoon, and then even adding the Ritalin in the AM as well as 50mg of Zoloft. We were finally getting some results (and relief) but two weeks ago the doctor said he was overmedicated and dropped him down to 36mg concerta. Well needless to say things are rocky again. My husband and I are both over stressed with handling things (we are pretty sure our 5 year old is headed the same way). I am very concerned with him being on soo many different meds, and high doses. I'm worried about chemical dependency problems in the future because we have a family history on both sides of the family. But I can't imagine life without him medicated. Anyways.... we are trying to come up with new answers and my husband heard about The Drake Institute here in Southern California and they use a biofeedback program with supposedly good results, they basically say he will proabably not need medication anymore. It sounds wonderful, allmost too good. So I was wondering if anyone out there has any info good or bad. I tried looking up online and have found that biofeedback is used used lots of places to treat ADD, but i have not seen anything negative. I figured some of you guys might know a little more about it, have tried it or know someone who has. I appreciate any info you might share with us.
