Is there an IQ test that includes looking at patterns and recreating them with colored blocks? I'm just trying to figure out what's going on with my son's testing. I should just wait for results, huh? ;D That is all I got out of him.

Yes there is. I remember when I was a kid and got tested for a gifted type program. One of the things was looking at a picture of a block flower or house or whatever and trying to quickly recreate it with blocks.

From looking at my son's Evaluation Report, done last November under the new Pennsylvania guidelines, it looks like "Perceptual Reasoning" has sub tests called "block design", "picture concepts" and "matrix reasoning". Michael said he remembers "vaguely" doing something like using the blocks to re~create a flower in a limited time frame.
Don't know if that helps, but... for what it is worth!

Hmmm...I don't know if this is good or bad. I asked him if he had to make designs, like a flower or house, and he said, "No, that's not possible to make a flower or house out of blocks." So he either did a different test, or he didn't do very well. It sounds like the testing part is done, though. We should have a report within a week or two.

It could have been more of a pattern thing like making a big triangle out of a square and 2 small triangles or something like that.
