Well, today was DS's evaluation for language processing disabilities. The therapist doing the testing said that tentatively she doesn't see a problem apart from the inattentiveness and doesn't think he'll need therapy. I hope she is right. One thing she noticed, though, was that in answering questions about paragraphs she read, he could answer the ones where the answer was implied, but he couldn't answer the more obvious ones. She is going to look more closely at the results and get back with me next week.

Maybe your ds was focusing on the questions that were implied. Let us know.

I do have to say I went through some papers when I was little from the testing that all schools do, an dI was above average in everything....like high 90's%. Except in the reading comprehension. ???I always read too much into things.......still do today. ::)That's why my answers were never correct. I was in the MAYBE IT COULD TURN OUT THIS WAY........not the IT REALLY TURNED OUT THIS WAY. It was mroe the wishful thinking on my part I remember hearing when I was little. Sorta the little rebel coming out Keep us posted

Hmmm .. this is interesting ... so in fact Kaiti your imagination (which is good) was getting in the way of the facts? I wonder whether this might be the case for many, many adhd'ers .... particularly as their imaginations tend to be so good... It will be interesting to see what the therapist comes back with Skay .. Keep us posted and GOOD LUCK!!

He loves reading, but sometimes misreads things. I find myself thinking, "that's not what it really says."
