Okay, I am not sure where to post this so I will post this here. My daughter who is 9 is on Concerta, we just started it again, we had a period of a little break, (insurance problem) Well before when she was on she used to get tired, but now she is complaining that her tummy hurts a lot. She is not a complainer so for her to complain than it has to hurt a tremendous amount. Is this normal, is there anything I can give her to help or should I call the dr. thanks so much.

:)I think for some kids this is a common problem...but to be on the safe side I would call the Doc.

Hi I don't know much about meds, but is she getting enough water? I know, sounds lame, btu when there is a change to the system, sometimes dehydration is a key, and she might feel a bit like that.
you might have a bit better of a time asking in the meds section, or for that matter, looking there for past post concerning concerta,
Welcome to the family

Did you build up slowly to the same dosage, or did you jump right back in? You might have to build up a tolerance again.

With Jared the tummy ache had more to do with med timing and how much food was or was not in his stomache. ( after being off meds for a bit it seemed to matter more with him than it did when he first started the concerta as a new med)

I find sd does much better in the stomach ache department, if she takes her pill after breakfast... It also helps, to get one decent meal in her, since the medication suppresses her appetite so much...
If that doesnt work, I would talk to the dr! Good luck!

I agree with these "decent meal" before med´s-ladie´s, I think that was the thing with ds9 who´s on concerta 36mg. He has no problem´s anymore. But to be on the safe side, I´d call your doc, expesially if this continues...
