Alex had a doc appointment on Monday and I expressed my concerns about him possibly being Dyslexic. Well, his doc wants him to have another ADD eval (the last one by a psych was in GA and 2 years ago) and one for Dyslexia. But the insurance will only cover the ADD eval (all of that - yay!). So I had the office manager fax me the fee schedules. The Dyslexia eval is over a $1000 I kinda lost my breathe when I saw that LOL! She said the school can test for that. I told her of my problems with them and getting testing done and she said if they give me anymore problems, to call her! ;D Not sure what she will do but I'll take any help I can get LOL! I sure wish Dyslexia was covered by insurance! Traci

Traci....I would have the school test him too....at least it will give you a baseline.
BTW ADHD and Dyslexia share the same gene.

I can't believe dyslexia isn't covered by insurance! I would certainly follow-up with the school on the testing.... and take that docs offer if needed. Good luck.

Linda, that's very interesting they share the same gene, I had no idea. My DH says he sees a lot of himself in Alex (when he was a boy), in regards to schoolwork and grades, although he was never tested or even thought to have either of them. He's been tossing around the idea of having himself tested in a month or 2.
