Another possible thought: ADHD people are going to see the structure of the military as a great relief and a safety net. The special forces would definitely appeal to those with high stim personalities!
Stimulants are used by people in the Andes to improve their ability to process oxygen at high altitudes, leaves from the coca plant. Not saying it is good in any way to use a perscription drug without the diagnosis and supervision of a doctor!!! However, this isn't without precedent. I know when I take the concerta it makes life a lot easier. Apparently I am a lot less high-strung. My family knows when I have missed my meds cause there are lots of offers to watch the rest of the kids while I go out and go run errands or go take a nap, etc.......!
I know it is tough for me to stay awake after my morning meds until they settle in somehow. They put me to sleep.....then it evens out and I don't need my afternoon nap and I am a lot more stable and able to focus.
