Hi All -
You'll see my post about "New state..." but I just had to write this as a separate post.
My 9 y/o just came in (Yep, he's having trouble sleeping too!) and asked if he'd have to go thru "more tests" or would a doctor prescribe something on the first visit?
Since we've never had any other doctor, I am curious what other's have experienced when they change doctors??? I told my son I didn't know but we'd find a doctor that was a "good one" for him.

Marie, I don't think you will have any problem getting a prescription from a new doctor. Just make sure you have a copy of your medical records from the old doctor to show him with any test results he will need or want to see.

I agree with Ohmama, make sure you have everything from the past med records. Even if you think you won't need it, I'd take it just in case. The Ped Neurologist that we took Mikey to said it's better to have too much then not enough, as they want a good picture of what they are dealing with.
Take care Kaiti
