It went well!!!

We really liked the psychiatrist. He was funny and very caring. My mommy instinct felt good!!! He was very good at explaining things to me. He joked with Brenna and made her laugh.
Well anyway he gave her the dx. of mood disorder, not specified. He said she is displaying some bipolar symp. but will not give her that dx. until it is very evident.
For meds he added Effexor xr to see if that would help even out her mood and help with the anxiety. He said we had not exhusted all of our antidepressant class meds so he does not want to try anything else yet.
I am to give her 37.5 mg for 2 weeks and then go up to 70mg. If at anytime things to do seem to be going well or she seems activated I am to stop the med and call him. I am to call him in 3 weeks with a report and she sees him again in July or sooner if needed.
I was satisfied with this and feel comfortable so far.
I will start the effexor xr in the morning. I will keep you updated.

Sorry to get in on this late...
It is fantastic that you and Brenna like the dr so much!!! That will make all the difference in the world. My ds and I also really like his dr and I trust him implicitly, which is so important!! Good going mom!!!
