Mine is the first one, proud big brother of two sister´s. Mayby it would be easier to be the younger sibling, then they would have some appropriate role-model´s around Or may by not. In any case, I wouldn´t trade him to any other kid´s

Dan is the oldest by 3 years. Amber is the baby (she hates that ) of the family. They do have a younger cousin, but she is in NY, so we haven't seen her in 7 years.

Well, as most of you know, Cami is my only child.... for me I guess it is the luck of the draw for having a child with the idiot I had her with. What can I say though, I was very young (18) and naive when I married him. I didn't know any better and noone to try to make me see what kind of future I woiuld have with him.
As far as why I never had more.... I guess just a fear of having another and wondering if I could handle it. Plus, with today's school demands, just outright knowing I don't want to go through THAT all again!

My adhder is my baby (2nd born). Lucky thing I am not sure if I could handle it if he was born first . Somedays he is a handful (Like tonight~~everything is a quest to see who is right and he thinks he is the winner~~~WRONG).

Its funny, Dan was the easy going baby. Slept all night right from the hospital, no terrible twos or threes, no temper tantrums, talked well from the start, walked early, never got into anything, climbed the furnature or hit, bit, etc. Amber was colicy, into everything, woke up 2 or 3 times a night, had the terrible twos and threes.
Dan ended up ADHD, not amber. If I had to pick the adhd one based on the first few years, I would have been wrong.

Michael the oldest is the ADHD kid. Slept through at 5 days old... 12 hour nights by 2 weeks. For the first year of his life people asked if he ever cried! Now he is ODD~ go figure.
Patrick is 12 and still doesn't sleep through. He is a bit ADD, but with no H, I can cope.
Shaun isn't diagnosed, but boy can he give Michael a run for his money. He slept through at 8 days, but only 9 hours a night. All he does is cry and whine if someone looks at him funny.
Who knows.

I wonder how it is one child born from the same set of parents can wind up with ADHD and not the other. That's interesting to me.

Both my kids are total opposites. Dan is tall, Amber short, Dan has a reading/writing ld but gifted in math, amber reads, writes, and spells well above grade level, but needs help in math. Dan hates being in front of a crowd unless he is on a TEAM sport. Amber loves being in the spotlight, and wants to be the center of attention. Dan is like a little soldier, all stiff and proper, everything is either right or wrong, no inbetween. Amber is very bubbly social butterfly personality. Dan does the sports, Amber likes the performing arts (dance, music, theater, etc) Dan dropped baseball after 5th grade, Amber loves softball. If I didnt know better, I would think one was switched at birth. At least their is not too much competition between them with diffrent interests, but there is still some.

I wonder how it is one child born from the same set of parents can wind up with ADHD and not the other. That's interesting to me. I think when adhd is "genetic" as it seems to soooo SOOOOO often it is literally the "luck of the draw" with the genes ... i.e. taking some genes from the father and some from the mother ... which ones you get for what feature about you is totally random ... I also am a firm believer that even when BOTH parents of a child are NOT adhd ... you WILL more often than not find it if you start looking at Uncles, Aunts and Grandparents.... which in turn means anybody who has it "in their family" can carry it (even if they don't have it themselves) ... and potentially pass it on... From where I am standing this is just the same with the majority of disorders/illnesses etc. known to mankind ...
