Thanks Robert. The ADHD is not as aparent right now b/c he is only in 4 y/o Kindergarten, but next year I know it will show up at school.
Right now my main concern is the ODD and other habits, so we forge on....

Oh My Gosh!! Did all of you just write all that stuff about ME and my family? Now keep in mind, my son is eight, but we've been down this road for FOUR (count 'em) years! We have a new child psychologist (we moved from one state to another) and I'm about to FIRE him. He has said ALL the things you have said yours was telling you. In the first place, all he did was some testing on my son...no talking to him, etc. All of a sudden, WE weren't parenting him correctly. Little does he know we've been going to therapists, social workers, psychiatrists for YEARS! And I, like most of you, have read every available thing in print about ADHD, ODD, Bipolar, Autism, etc. I was absolutely insulted and now that the testing is done on my son, we'll never darken his door again. I wonder who some of these doctors think they are? ?? Holier than thou? ALL of you hang right in there. These doctors put on their pants (skirts) the same way we do and if the truth were TEXTreally TEXT we probably know as much about it as they do...jsut don't have the degrees to flash around. This whole subject gets me hot under the collar...NO ONE knows our children better than we do!

Wow, Honeysmom, I'd fire her just on the basis of disrespect. She's part of your team, and if she doesn't recognize her role and your role she lacks judgment. One of the first things we learned about ADHD was that they behave better for dads than moms -- they don't see the dads as much so there's novelty, which helps with attention, and they also are generally bigger and perhaps more unpredictable than moms, so there's more intimidation. You're right about behavioral charts. This link www.tourettesyndrome.net/behavior.htm has several articles about the pitfalls of behavior mod. Anyway, you're so right with a four year-old, they can't remember from one moment to the next. Christie

Thanks for the support. She is fired. I am never going back there again. I don't care if the insurance won't cover it, we'll find a way.
I forgot about the tourett's site and I never noticed a section on behavior mod. I'm gonna look that up. Thanks...
