Hello I am Michelle I just joined today. I am a mother of 3 kids Adam my oldest who is in kindergarten and is newly diegnosed with ADHD and Anxity Disorder. We are handeling everything as well as we can. He has been medicated (Medadate) he likes taking it he says that it makes him think better. So far I haven't had either of the girls show signs of it but I am now wondering if my 5 year old has Bi-Polar because she is very moody and has some nasty mood swings.
I have been looking for a good support group for ADHD and possibly Bi-Polar.

 And welcome!! I just read your other post, I am soooo glad your son is working on 11 days without any bad reports!  to Adam on a job well done, he deserves to be proud... You have found the right place, there is alot of information on the site, though I cant say for sure about the metadate (my sd is on adderall xr 30 mg, and welbutrin for depression)... I am very glad it is working for adam... Best of luck, and again welcome aboard! cat

I am right now very happy that he is only on one med for his ADHD and not on different ones I am worried that he will be put on more later though. I do have Bi-Polar in my family so we are all on the look out for that. We are also looking out for depression because I am taking meds for it and am going through a custody battle for the second time in a year. (long story)

:)hi michelle dawn, welcome to our forum family!!! my ds9 is adhd/bipolar. we have a good section on related disorders where you can find info on bipolar disorder. you may have to do a search if it doesnt show on the first page of the section. a good link is www.cabf.org. it's a great site for education and information on early onset bipolar. so glad to hear that your ds adam is doing so well on the metadate and that he can notice the difference!!! what a big boy he is!! |
