Hi There, I have been looking for a group like this, this is great. I am also new here and always looking for help. I have 4 year old boy/girl twins. My son has been diagnosed adhd and am having a tough time with him. He is in trouble most days at school, will not take nap at all, cannot even rest, he has to be doing something at all times. I have tried to change their diet as I do not want to medicate at this point. I hate that he is always in trouble as I am always trying to do positive reinforcements, but my daughter sometimes does not get things because of this..Sooo hard sometimes..Any suggestions for preschool and home. I am letting my daughter go into Kindergarten this sept, but am holding him back in Jr K. I hope as he gets older, he will be ok with this, he is just not ready and has no interest...any suggestions? thanks

:)Jgeorge and welcome!! You´ll find that we´ve have the same issue´s (most of us anyway) and we´ve coped with those issue´s. It´s getting better by the time....not too quick but by the time I think, holding him back is mayby best to him and to her too, to get some own-space and possibility to show her personality and ability´s without the "shadow". I think your son will benefit of the fackt that he´s doing this without sister, so he wont be compared to her all the time! Please, surf around we have these different section´s where you´ll find a lot of info, support and fun. Welcome again!!

Welcome JGEORGE, there is so much information here, it might seem like over load at first Anyhow, just wondering, is it that he isn't interested in learning, OR is he learning what he wants? My son is a pain when it comes to him actually sitting down and sitting still, and HAVING to learn. Worse than pulling teeth I tell ya. I do think that you should go ahead and keep him back until he matures, BUT make sure that he isn't just bored and getting into trouble because he has nothing to do. I always making children that need the movement my helpers. They are very good at sorting crayons, organizing papers for me, sweepping the floors....ect. Good luck

Hi and welcome to the board...I'm new too. It's tough when they're always in trouble about something.
