Intro- Twin Preschoolers with ADHD

Hi,

I just found this website today, after my 3 year old identical twin boys were asked to leave their gymnastics class because they were unmanageable. I cried on the way home because the reality that they have ADHD is sinking in. Last month their pediatrician had them meet with a neurodevelopmental pediatrician. Her assessment at this age is “at risk for symptoms of ADHD and a language deficit” We are having them evaluated by our school system this Friday.

I am also going to start them on the Feingold diet and hope that we’ll see an improvement.

I know the road ahead will bring many challenges and I want to be my sons’ best advocate. I look forward to learning much from all of you and think I will find the support that I need here.

It sounds to me like you have your hands full with twins.I think a lot of us cried when we found out our kids were ADHD.Just remember what a great mom you are and yes you will be your kids best advocate.

I offer a ditto to what Linda said. This is a place of great support, understanding, and stress relief. We have advice, people to just listen when you need to vent, and a humorous section when you just need a good laugh for stress relief. Stick around and I'm sure you'll be happy you did.

:)Welcome to the "family". We have a variety of people with kids at all ages, and stages, so just jump right in with any questions you may have. You will probably find that most of us have btdt. Dont forget to take time for yourself while dealing with the kids. Twins are hard enough, and add adhd on top, well you need to keep well rested, and the stress down as much as possible.

I cant tell you what a shock that is!! It is my sd's story to a "T".... I signed her up, they reminded me it wasnt refundable etc etc... The first day came, and within 20 minutes they happily refunded my money, as they asked us to leave...
