I've been lurking here for about a month and decided it was time to come out of hiding My name is Traci, married 13 years and have 2 boys, Alex 10 and Drew 4. Alex was diagnosed ADD 2 years ago by a psychcologist. But now I believe him to be dyslexic, with very mild ADD. Waiting on his school to set up testing for this (why does it take so long and why do they act as though it's an inconvience?). Well, that's the short of it lol. I look forward to getting to know everyone! Traci

Hi traci and welcome. I am so glad you are not lurking any more...this is a great place to be so come as often as you like. As far as the schools go....beats me....seems like it takes forever If they are acting like it is a inconvenience you may have to push them.

Thanks for the welcome!
My DH's aunt is a special ed teacher, but she lives in another state of course, and she has been a huge help to me. His grades have gone way up since they started doing testing orally (from D's to A's & B's). It took a couple of months of nagging to get them to do that. The IOWA tests are coming up next month and I just don't have a clue what to do about that, because the school didn't get him on the list for modifications in time. I thought about keeping him out those days, but I'm afraid they will have him take it on another day.
Well, enough of my rambling lol. I hope to participate as much as possible.
Talk to you guys soon! Traci
