Might as well introduce myself... My name is Ninotchka, and I'm from NJ. I was diagnosed with ADD shortly after my first year in school, and have been on medications ever since... I've only started college recently, and having a hard time. I... I haven't been able to get Concerta ever since I switched from a pediatritian. Recently, I've been trying to find a psychiatrist, all the while trying to keep focus in schoolwork. I'm sorry. This must sound like all I do is complain. Actually, I've been thinking about trying to find support with ADD, like in online groups (such as this). I heard this sort of thing is supposed to help a little with problems like this... So, nice to meet everyone!

You are now officially in good hands! We take really good care of each other. We want to help you anyway we can. Some of our members are from NJ, although I can only think of one that is currently living there. I am across the Delaware River in southeast PA. Let us know, and we can try to help you search for a decent doc within a reasonable range for you to drive. Maybe the health center on campus can help you find someone to treat you. If you had an IEP or an 504 service plan in school, you might qualify for continued assistance in college. You won't know if you don't ask. If you don't wan't to "come out" on campus as ADHD, make an anonymous call to the health center first. We have a few other young adults your age around here, so you should feel right at home. Welcome to a VERY BIG family of MOM's and DAD's who will help you anyway we can... including an occasional nagging if you need it! All our nagging is in good fun though! Laurie
