OK, got some sleep! Last night I was waiting for my ADHD child's head to start spinning and eyes to turn white!!
Jessica was diagnosed In August with ADHD, she is 7 years old, in first grade for the second time. In Kindergarten I just thought her teacher did not like her, she never EVER said anything good about my Angel. So we had soem STAT meetings and they advanced her to first grade. Then I would get calls about once a month. Her teacher was GREAT, warm kind and loving. BUT she was not experienced in noticing any signs. At that time, I decided to get her hearing and vison tested. She kept failing hearing tests We asked because of Jessica's maturity level if we could hold her back. academically she was fine. She agreed because Jess could not sit through a reading or a lecture.
The summer was not bad, I had my neice (age 15) come watch the kids (Jessica has a older sister who is 10). She could not handle Jessica, she would call me everyday at work to talk to her. So Jessica went to daycare.
Her doctor suggested a specialist in Ears nose throat and in July they removed her tonsils and adenois (sp). Yeah all our problems are solved!! NOTTT
After all that we had her tested and many forms tears and talks with our dr diagnosed her with ADHD. She was put on ridalin, once a day. Her teacher was awestruck! She seen an improvement as soon as we go the dose right. Well now she thinks she needs an afternoon dose. So thats where I am now. I hate to have her take meds at school. I feel more in control when I give them to her. Hmmm I usually do not give them to her on weekends when she is with home.
Well I better get to work And get Thurday over with.
