Welcome aboard and excuse our goofiness! Sometimes I think our moderators need medication! (gotcha, guys! ;D)
My son is 7 and on Concerta, and your kid sounds just like mine! He calls his meds his "concentration medicine" because he realizes that that is what they do, help him to concentrate. I have never had any trouble out of Jarrett as far as acting up goes. But he was constantly bringing home notes from school because he couldn't keep his mouth shut or his butt still, LOL! Eventually, he started getting a negative image of himself, referring to himself as a "bad boy". That's when I broke down and went to the doctor. Concerta was the 3rd med we tried, and has been the best so far. I hope it works as well for you!
Your kid sounds like a great kid, and he is lucky to have you for a mom! Hope to see you around a lot more!

Well, so far so good! I got a little note from Kelby's teacher, it just said "Kelby finished his work on time today." Hey, to me that is pretty big news! I have a conference with his teacher next week to get her thoughts before we check in with Kelby's doctor. I am sure hoping that this does the trick! jdmom, our kids sound just alike! Kelby is a good kid, he just has the "fastest gums in the south!" lol. He can just talk your ears off. He also gets in trouble for wiggling, squirming, jumping up out of his seat, talking, singing, making noises, and last week's discipline report said "using learning utensils in manners they were not intended to be used". I got a good laugh out of that one, it just sounded too crazy to be true! I can only guess what he was doing with his "learning utensils", lol.

Maybe it was other people that were learning from him! That is a good report. I would think that those are the type of behaviors that stimulants can help with.
How did he feel about his day?

He said that it was a good day. Yesterday when he got home he had a headache, so I wasn't too sure how good his day went. But today he told me that he'd had a very good day today. Tomorrow is his spelling and reading tests, and so far he has failed every one they have taken. I am hoping that tomorrow he will do better on them, since he will be more focused on his work.

When my son was in grade four, he got a "D" in spelling. I started homeschooling him the next year and found that he could spell just fine. The problem had been that he couldn't write a spelling test -- too many distractions and dysgraphia (inability to handwrite). But he could spell fine, so you have to sort all this out with these kids.
Please let us know how he does tomorrow.

Ha-Ha, bigmomma, my dad calls Jarrett "The Mouth of the South"! Jarrett comes home often with a headache, too. It is probably from the meds, but my dad and I are both migraine sufferers, so it may be hereditary? I hope not, poor kid! Jarrett is fine after taking some Advil, usually it is gone in 30 minutes. So I have taken some to the nurse at school for him to use as needed. Except most of the time, he won't go ask for it. He says he forgets. Hopefully, today will be another great day!
