My son was diagnoised with adhd at five years old and he is now nine. we started with ridalin and it made him vomit profusly and then we went to concerta and he ended up looking like a skeleton . then ther was adderall and he attacked his teacher and now straterra and he vomits. i'm at my wits end . he is currently off meds and i can't seem to get through to him at all.where do i go from here ?he is in special education due to learning disablities that are caused in part by the adhd and is unable to learn off meds . he also suffers from severe migraine headaches but his neuro doc is not sure if its due to adhd. he is on nerotin for that i live in a very rual area and treatment options are limited any ideas are welcome i dont want to loss my son

Hi Bethed Wellcome to our forum. It´s nice to have new member´s I´am sorry about your son, I´am afraid that finding a right med is true trial and error all the way and you may end up as done them all I´am not so familiar with med´s in U.S, but sound´s like you´ve tried all the most common one´s. Even a lower dosage of any of these didnt help Have you used any alternative thing´s? we have very good section of alternative treatment, you might want to check it out. Expesially Ohmama and Catatonic have made using alternative´s almost an art If you have a question, I bet they´ll know the answer My ds is almost 9, too. Currently on conserta on schoolday´s only and doing as well as possible. Wellcome again! Marja

Welcome Beth,
There is a lot of info that you can get here. If you go to the meds section, you may find any info there. The doc's office has lots of info too.
Common disorders asocciated may also be of help as well.
Ask away.....I have covered all of the stupid questions, so I don't think there are any left to ask, so don't be shy.
Have a good day and hope to see ya soon Kaiti

This just brought one thing to my mind. I think it was the May Readers Digest that had an article on how people can metabolize medications differently. It mentioned that genetic testing can be done for anyone taking Straterra to find out if they have certain genes that affect how they would metabolize Straterra. Maybe your child metabolizes the medication differently and needs a different dose than most kids would take?
