Did you find it through a search engine?
Were you a member of the adhd.com forum?
Did you follow a link from a website about adhd? What link if you don't mind my asking?
email from a friend?
word of mouth?
Other?
I'm real curious how people are locating this site and how many people from adhd.com were able to stay connected. This information might help us figure out how to get the word out better. I think this is one heck of a support forum and if I can help make it easier to find I'd like to do what I can.
I found adhd.com just a month or so before it closed down but i was danged impressed with the community spirit and caring. I was afraid the community wouldn't survive the loss of the original forum.
I did some work with the open directory project to make this new forum known to search engines. But there may be some tweaking we could do to make this site even easier to find.
So please tell how you found the site!

I origninally found adhd.com through a search engine. Then I told any parent at the school that I thought it might help.
Of course our computer went to crap right before that one was down and this was up, so I e-mailed a couple people to figure what was going on. They let me know that Veronika was getting this on up and Millermom had the other for us to go to.
VERONIKA: thank you for saving my sanity. ALL MODERATORS: I don't want to name one by one because I'm afraid I'll forget someone, thank you for your patience and guidance. THE REST OF THE FAMILY: including the above: Thanks for your wit, honesty, stories, reflections, thoughts.....
At the bottom of my posts, I have a quote, and I feel right at home here. Kaiti

I found ADHD.com days before it closed and there was a post their that referenced this site.
I tell everyone about this site that I think needs to know.
I even told the people at Brooke's school.
Truly, this site saved my sanity. It has provided so much info and so much stress relief, I'm not sure where I would be without it, but I certainly wouldn't know as much.
Thanks to everyone on this site. You all make it happen.

We have just started down the road to being dx. A couple of months ago I did a search trying to find any info I could on ADHD. I came across the old site and the first post I read was about the site closing. I kept reading til I found out this one was opening up. I came in and started reading Have been here since.
I am so glad I found you all. I'm sure as I go through the dx process I will be posting more.
Thank you all for lending an ear and giving your comments and suggestions.

Don't know why I never answered this one before!
I was on schwablearning.org a lot, but was becoming annoyed with the way some of the posts were coming across, like those certain moms had it all together and were able to give expert advice, and it ticked me off. I've done a lot of reading and research, but I'm not an expert, except for living with people with ADHD on a daily basis. Someone there had mentioned adhd.com, so I went there, like it, and stayed. Moved over here with everyone else, and love it! I feel like part of a great big world wide struggling family, where they understand what I'm going through, and are willing to listen and to help wherever they can.

I followed over from adhd.com I had found that one on a search engine about a year ago... Didnt get to it very often at the time because my mom was very ill and dying so I was focused on her illness (pancreas cancer), not really on my family at the time... Now I realize how important family is so my focus is back where it belongs!

Sierra, I just now came by this area for fun, since I feel like I know everyone here already.
I was at my wit's end with Michael, looking for a place to get help. A few books mentioned CHADD, but I am too cheap to pay to read info on the net. I found the old site last spring and felt instantly among family. It took me a few extra weeks to move over here since I was just starting home school when the old homestead closed down. But several folks from "back home" e-mailed me looking for me here. I felt very welcome, and am glad that I was kept after until I came back into the family!

Hi, I believe someone in the ADD Support chat room in Yahoo posted it and I checked it out. I've chatted in there for years as mctavish23 and really love the room and its regs. I also belong to a couple of other forums that Im fond of too.
This forum is very special in the way that the entire group shows compassion and respect for each other. I've had a few bad experiences before in other groups but feel perfectly comfortable to be myself. Hopefully, I've learned from my mistakes as well.
Thank you again for being here . You all do a wonderful job.

I came from the adhd.com website.
I want to thank everyone on this website. I come here because I never feel judged and even if I don't post, I read alot and see that I am not the only on struggling at times and rejoicing at other times. You have become an extended family to me. Thanks again.
