mom2tj,
I know how you are feeling. It was SUCH a relief when we finally had the diagnosis with DS. We weren't going crazy after all.
With DD (5) - we have been "watching" her for three years with the whole OCD thing . . . suspecting it but hoping that things would change . . . now we are in the process of getting the whole diagnosis done with a pediatric neurologist. It felt like such a relief with DS and now it feels just so overwhelming with DD! Maybe it is because we finally muddled through so much with the first ones . . . and now we have to start over!
(((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))))
We'll get through it!!!

Lise... to you. As Amsmom said, you already have so much else going on. But this is something you know you can "fix" so to speak. You can do it.... you already are.

I visited one today the guy said I'll put you on a waitting list but I just finished the 2002 list and going on the 2003 list my son will be in school by the time he gets in.... I dont know where to go right now.... I visited 4 daycares that all the daycares around here, and called the 3 pr-ks they didnt get back to me on of the pr-k asked for an evaluation before you register this I found out from a neibour there is no way DS will get in just fuming right now GRRRRRR

They want an EVALUATION at THAT AGE before you can register? YIKES !! ... Hey one positive though... $7.00 is very reasonable compared to here ... we look at around £30/$55 per day for day care at that age in the UK .... but that is so much NOT the point!! ... The point is that your son is not being given an opportunity to even "JOIN" one right now!! ... and THAT is WRONG!!

yes the prices are good if you can find one.... a private daycare will run me aabout 25.00 a day and would be tax deductable I would get most of it back because of the shortage in the 7.00 daycares but I still dont have the cash to dish out even if I will get it back eventualy I'll keep looking

GOOD GOOD LUCK Lise !! I can so much feel your frustration here trying to find your ds a suitable pre-school!! Back to the possibility of adhd itself and how you feel about that ... I am sorry this has hit you hard. I always think the time around diagnosis is the worst and I don't suppose it matters whether you have seen it with your other children or not ... it can still be tough!! As the others say however, because you are used to dealing with adhd on a daily basis and have learned a lot about it you will definitely be one-step-ahead in this regard! ....

Oh, to you! I am currently worrying about the same thing with my dd 6. She was just diagnosed with LD in reading and is getting special ed services now through an IEP. She doesn't really have the "hyper" part, but I'm noticing other signs that seem "not right," KWIM? For one thing, she's lying a LOT, about everything, even when she knows it was witnessed. For another thing, she's doing the procrastination thing with homework that is so typical of ds 9 (adhd). The other night she couldn't sit still while doing her reading homework (granted, that's her problem; she did the math without issue)...I don't know, but I'm praying she's NOT add... although I will say that having gone through it once it would probably be easier... DS 9 is actually doing pretty well. We're experimenting with different ways to help him with homework and he started seeing a psychologist for his inability to get along with his younger sister (sometimes I think her problems are relative to his meanness)... Best wishes and hang in there. I always think knowledge is power. Once diagnosed, you know how to take action, and that empowers you. Kris
