I forgot about the touch, as M/C explained above. That really tells me that she needs me to pay attention. And paying attention is a form of flattery too. As far as getting done, there is nothing more that sets me in a fight'n mood than being told to do something over and over again. But I can say that the diffence between fighting and getting something done is whether or not I had taken my medicine. After taking it I have a clear path to getting it done. I plow into the task and accomplish it. Without medicine, there is like a foggy barrier that is up and I am more likely to prolong, daydream, find other unimportant things to do, and make it look like I forgot the task to be done. I did not forget it, just haven't found any incentive to get it done. Now with regard to all this cling wrap going on.... will aluminum foil work too??? Miles

Oh I am LATE LATE LATE on this !! ... (serves me right for not reading the adults section often enough ... but I intend to IMPROVE on that!! ) Michelle I can relate 100% to having a dh that sometimes (no .. correction ... OFTEN) drifts off and I am left having a monologue conversation which nobody is listening to !! ;D (Apart from the dog of course because he is a VERY GOOD listener!! ;D) BUTTTT ... and this is what I find the ironic bit ... DH can equally be a VERY, VERY GOOD listener!! ... He can be as equally as good a listener as he can be a poor one!! ... This is what I find confusing!! ... (I personally think it depends upon what the "subject matter" is and/or whether there is anything else - like the tv for example - distracting him)... Sam (17 year old add son) is very similar ... Sam can be a HOPELESS Listener who either simply "isn't" listening at all AND/OR is interrupting the speaker with his own thoughts .... BUTTTTT AGAIN can very often be an exceptional one !! ... This is leaving me with more 's than I am giving in the way of answers!! ;D ;D

I call it "Male Selective Hearing Loss" I have told Bobo many times that there is nothing wrong with his hearing...its more like the processor has blips and snow on the screen. Also sometimes I wish he weren't listening and weren't constantly on my heels wanting to talk...somewhere there has to be a happy middle spot. (maybe we should read more ..ya know like beaver cleavers parents did...they were always reading and smiling at each other with out much communicating at all...makes me wander who raised Beaver)

I've been reading Men Are from Mars and Women Are from Venus. It says that when women have a problem we need to talk, but when men have a problem they need to retreat into their "cave." Sometimes when the wife needs to talk, though, this causes the husband to need to retreat. He says that when that happens the wife needs to wait until he comes out of his cave or find someone else to talk to. (That's what this board is for, right? ;D )
Modified to add that I'm only halfway through the book, so I haven't gotten to where he gives more indepth solutions to the communication problems.

I am a firm believer in the Men are from Mars language barrier. (Read the whole book; it really is helpful)
I don't think John Gray meant it for ADHD husbands when they are in their cave so deep that the house is falling down around them and you have to knock 'em upside the head to get them to notice.

How about a big smacl on the lips and then direct eye contact.. heheh. get his attention first then tell him what you want then hey.. a bonus smack on the lips cant hurt.. though it might wipe out what you just said to him!!
hhehe
