Do you know what the average age is now for a woman having her first baby?

I just heard over the weekend that more teenage girls are abstaining than ever before. I sure hope that is a fact.
Honestly, I hope that the age is around 24-25. I know too many women that waited too long and had terrible troubles conceiving or carrying to term.
Christy gave me some advice about my grieving process for my ailing aunt. She told me to go make snow angels in the yard as a tribute. I am soooo enjoying that experience with my kids. But I feel my age trying to get up out of the snow without leaving footprints and handprints in the snow. (sure am glad that Michael is strong enough to get me up off the ground!)
I am glad I am still young enough to do the fun things with my kids, but not so young that I felt like the big sister instead of Mom.

It is now 28 - 30 in the countries of the western world. Do you think that birth control would be a part of the change? Since girls are reaching puberty earlier, this is like 16 - 18 years after reaching puberty. And this is just an average, meaning that 50% of girls have their first baby after this age. With the "biological window", this does not leave as much chance of having big families anymore.

More and more women are getting there careers going before having children...28-30 sounds reasonable.

Over 30y is what I see almost daily, I work at the prenatal care field too. Seem´s like people get their careér, housing and "life" in order first and then try to have a baby. Just my 2 cent´s: I´am totally glad I´ve had my 3 before I hit 30´s I have enough energy to get through all this, I hope!!!
