...sounds familiar... or it could be the thing you draw blueprints for, go to lowes and home depot 5 or 6 times, talk about, think about, plan out, but never actually get to.

Ya know, I just thought about something........ We have a guy that sells lumber-2x3's a dozen for $10-on a road side. HMMMMMMM Why is it that my husband has 3 deer stands and still has enough lumber out back to make 2 more? AND he hasn't touched it all winter And he yells at me when I buy the jumbo packs of stuff Kaiti

I think that every time a special occasion comes along, you should buy your husband some more junk and have it towed into the yard. He will love you for it. Your golden years with him will be so . . . well . . . golden!! I am a bookseller and am surrounded by books all day long. If I go away to a conference, what do I do? You guessed it -- go to bookstores. There is no better gift for me than a book. I also give people books. Now, for someone else it might be junk. For someone else shoes. Does it matter?
Did you know that if you give me a book for about 30 secs, I can tell you quite a bit about it? Some people might be like that with junk, some with sale merchandise . . .

OHHHHHHHH I am so bad whe it comes to books too We have, let me go count through out the house.......6 bookshelves, not counting the kids books. Not too bad considering I just pared down so that all of the books could fit in the shelves. Mike laughed because I am so cheap, 2 of our shelves are actually old drawers that we took the knobs off of and stacked them on each other......hey they work and the dressers that they went to were getting trashed any how ;D ;D ;D Although, since our landlord has our property up for sale, I think I'll keep Barry in mind before I sort through anymore if we have to move. 1st up- Danny Goodman's MacIntosh hand book.....do I hear any bidders Kaiti

Ah no...I don't think I'll be needing that book, but I do have a ton of them here myself. I am the person you like to see comming up the driveway if you are having a rummage sale and selling books!!
I refuse to buy them new (sorry Barry) b/c I read them so fast it seems wasteful, plus I can never read the same book twice. I already know the end.
I also refuse to throw out old text books, you never know when you are going to need them again, and I have a personal vandetta going on with the guy who buys them back at the colleges. He shudders when he sees me comming. I think I committed a crime last semester in my quest to get him to buy back a math book, but $30 later I am happy. ;D

RosyRed you said it best when you said: "To invent, you need a good imagination and a pile of junk."-Thomas Edison Kaiti Moderator 1. My dad and step mom have ADD and they have trailor trash issues. He calls her nick nacks trailer trash-they are super cute adorable things-not trashy or stupid at all-but he desperately needs to maintain an impressive looking home. My Dad is a real trip. He presents an image that is so reserved and cool but in honesty he is a wild guy. The home is a part of his self esteem. The downstairs is her domaine. ;D In my home I have a 'grotto'-no not a cave with cavernous wet, mossy walls but a nice sized arts and crafts room that is my special place. The garage is his "liar"-you know-sex-cat tiger thing. Whatever, but it works. I remove and touch nothing in the liar and he doesn't dare mess with the messy grotto. This is all on penalty of death too (LOL).

BOOKS! now there's something to collect!! i love them and the ones that really move me, i keep. dh will read the same book over and over (catching new details he says) but I just can't reread.....too many good things out there I'll never get to. barry, now, really do you think i'm going to drag home MORE spare vehicles? if books weighed 2 tons and were 10 feet long, would you still collect? LOL! whole new meaning to "book store" then. you'd have to have a location 5 miles by 5 miles just to have a decent assortment. teehheeee. and yeah, aaa, we sort of have the same deal. i don't mess with his space/stuff and he (mostly) stays out of mine (repeat: mostly!). 1mom

Books? The library's got nothing on me. I make up in depth what I lack in breadth. I started my book collection back around 1963. Before that the books weren't picked out by me though I still have a few of the early ones. My neices love coming to visit. We sit down and they tell me who they're reading these days. I go pull 3-4 books by that writer's great-granny or granpa off the shelf. Or maybe the first book that writer ever wrote. Or maybe the magazine where their first story was published.
Then the sprout's start wondering what they might have missed and go bookcase diving.
Nothing like a house full of opened half-read books! Warms my heart ;D
