Alright, I know that meetings are necessary, and I don't mind sitting through them if they are necessary, BUT I do have a problem when a meeting is scheduled by a pick this date or this date. Everyone says, ok this day is good. Which brings me to this. We are having a meeting in 45 minutes to discuss the summer program and the upcoming school year yadda, yadda. Well, the Business Administrator won't be there, she'll still be at another school getting work done there-shared services to cut down on taxes you know. The assitant Principal won't be there, the Superintendant won't be there-at least he has a legitimate reason, his FIL passed away suddenly-saya prayer for him. I don't know how on earth a meeting for the program is supposed to be worth while if there will be no input from those that are in charge of us Quite frankly we worked better before they stuck their fingers in theit, BUT NOOOO, gotta know all and be in charge of all. Yeah, and I'm still a bit spiteful for the fact of the restructuring, BUT I will not show it publicly. I'll let it bite em in the butt :oWhich is exactly how things seem to be going, I'll let you in on more after the meeting, but it gets juicy Oh well, thanks for listening

I have actually found that getting thru meetings is one of the toughest challenges of having ADD ... it is all I can do to survive a one-hour group meeting, whether it means following a single speaker or everyone contributing ...
I dread them with all my heart and seek any excuse for exemption ...

Kaiti I hear you The hardes´t part of meeting´s is timing. At my job they just send you a message; we´ve decided to keep this meeting then and then. I notivy them that I have client´s, cant come... then fix it with a co-worker so that I can go"it´s important, I should go...." and then I find out that they´ve changed the time to... guess what ; A day that wouldn´t be fine with me

My doodle sheet covers a page and a half by the time I get done with the meetings That meeting took a whole half hour to realize that the people that needed to be there weren't there and we never did reschedule another one :oEven though we are supposed to have them quarterly I dread any typ eof meeting too, not because I don't lik ethem, but I can't sit still and fidget and wiggle an dzone if it gets boring. We had one last night for the Buckshorn Club, tonight I have one for the Halloween Parade. At least I am interested in both of these things, but it still gets boring, sitting and everyone getting side tracked, I swear the whole group is ADD Thanks for listening

I don't like meetings without a purpose or to just to go around the table to discuss what we did for the week. When I hold a meeting it like I go shopping. Get in, grab a cart and hang on. I involve everyone, get input and assign tasks. When everyone leaves everyone knows what to do and when to do it. Not too much doodling in my meetings. If they don't show up I just send them a copy of the minutes. Unless I hear otherwise, I am going to do my job to the best of MY ability. Rosy, you can tell your "bosses" that it is a sign of their great leadership that decisions can be made without their direct supervision..... Miles

We still have yet to schedule another one Oh Boy, can't wait. I missed my parade meeting Monday, but they are fun, it's about 5-10 women and 1 or two guys :oSo needless to say, it's like a gossip session, and the guys leave blushing. But it is all fun ;D
