I just started my ACE Hardware job in the flower department. Like hello, I am being totally obsessive about it. It is the first job that I do so well my boss lets me be in charge and lord am I acting in charge. Hyperfocusing, me?
You'd think I was being paid to be a manager, but it's just something about that job and that place and how good about myself my boss makes me feel.
And I do feel great. I told her though that I am not responsible for what could happen if she put me on register. I said, Maybe I'd do it okay now that I'm on drugs, but that I lost jobs due to my greatness at the reggie.

Hey Alison, you know what hyperfocus away. Speaking as the director at my afterschool program, I wish my girls were that motivated, heck, I wish they'd be motivated at all.
And you do know what you r limitations are as far as the register, so why not do what you are good at.
Know what I mean Kaiti

Allison, it is awesome that you love you new job! Many people hate their jobs so you are lucky. Don't worry too much about the register. I was a bank teller for about 4 years and one thing that I learned is that some people are just not cut out for money handeling kind of jobs. My sister is also a teller and she says that she thinks it is just the pressure of having someone in front of you and then seeing a long line behind them that makes people make errors. Not to mention that you are dealing with money so that does add a little extra pressure. I think it was a good idea to let your boss know that you don't want to, wouldn't be comfortable rather, working on the register. Then he/she probably won't force you into it quickly. Hope it all keeps going well...Becky

Allison Congrat´s of the work!!!!! Wonderfull thing to get a job you like You already seem pretty aware of your limitation´s, mayby you should take a good look at your strong part´s as a worker, I know you have lot´s of them. Like people skill´s, I imagine you as a joyfull person who´ll sell custom´s even those things they are not really ready to buy, I say this in a good way, dont get offended Good luck! Marja

Hey thanks everybody. Just writing down how I felt made my day so much better today. I feel so good about myself now that I am working and my boss says I don't have to do register-Triple yee haw. A lot of my Karaoke friends work there too. It amazes me how badly I function when I am not super active. And your right honeysmom, I can't stand to see people get antsy and pissed off waiting in line. Thank you so much for everybody's kind words and encouragement and I hope Finnmom that you had a great time on Work Vacation Day over thier in Finland.
