boredom

I listened to a teleconference today about coaching ADD, but the man started with explaining what ADD is. He talked about ADDers not being able to concentrate on things that are boring to them. For some reason this struck a chord with me like never before (it's not the first time I've heard it). I actually find day-to-day life dull and routine and sometimes have a very difficult time dealing with it. It's hard to explain it here, but I wonder more than ever about myself.
I also have a certain thing that I find really interesting, but even though I know it's not the best way to spend my time, it's very difficult for me to shift away from that subject.

I think that is why so many of our kids find school so frustrating...they are bored...I don't know how many times I have heard Paul say that through the years. Are you thinking that maybe you are ADD? Could be you know. It also struck me that maybe you are a little depressed? Boy I am grasping here...might be something as simple as you need to do something different...maybe you are in a rut. I think most people have been there. I know I have.

I'm not sure what it is, but I've been this way my whole life. Sometimes it does help to do something that I've needed/wanted to do for a long time, even if it's as simple as cleaning out a certain drawer or closet or organizing recipe files.
There are many things I would like to learn to do so I'm not even sure what direction to go as far as getting out of a rut.
I think I've posted something similar to this boredom thing before, but for some reason it really struck me in a different way last night.

I just noticed the quote for today at the top of the page: "When I write love songs, people think they're really soppy -- but I see love as a consolation for the boredom of life." Martin Gore Brought to you by The NickeySurf Network Well, maybe I just need to spice up my lovelife with DH!
