Thanks Vick.... I am really hoping that she'll get SOME part in it.... it really would be a boost of confidence for her.

Just curious, do you think that Billy's mother is approachable? I don't know if you have spoken directly to her about what's going on, but it might help if she is a reasonable person. The school has no choice but to help you and have to make all accomodations possible to enable a child with disabilities to get an education without subjection to constant psychological abuse. Good luck to you, I hope this all comes to a stop.

:-XSpent from 3rd to 8th grade being bullied.Never physical but lots of verbal abuse. I was overjoyed when I got to high school and no one bullied me! DD hasn't said anything much yet except in very general terms. "Some kids call other kids names etc" We have had long talks about what to say to bullies I told what not to do was cry,put your head down look sad and never tell anyone. (what I did) She is very close to the school counselor so if anything was going on the counselor and/or I would know about it (I would hope) . CNN says this is "National No Name Calling Week" I am so glad that schools are more aware of bullying than 35 years ago. It was SO bad then if you were the least different.

I forwarded the National No Name Calling Week info to my son's principal. She was clueless, though she assured me that they have bullying prevention info in the school. Yea, right. I'm so mad at her it's crazy, anyway. They arent' following the 504 and then they blame DS for not having all the items he needs. Say he needs to be responsible, blah, blah, blah. Do they know ANYTHING about ADHD?? Kris

If your child is still being bullied after talking to the teacher and the principal, go over their head and talk to the superintendent.
My kid has been on both sides of this. He is small and the other kids think they can boss him around, but at 8 years old, he is almost as strong as me and can kick their butts.
