I don't have trouble learning computers, but I grew up with them. I have trouble getting off the dang computer.

I'm the opposite - took to computers like fish to water. Found my niche and ended up as a graphic artist (using computers). And I got into this way back before Windows - so wrting shortcuts and learning to do things wtih DOS - I loved it all. (But that is one reason I like the graphics - I like Director - writing the codes, etc.)
It is probably not your interest - making it more difficult for you to stay focused!!

I'm one of those stubborn people that are behind the times by choice. It took us 3 years living here for me to agree to cable, then another 3 to get us on thje internet, now Mike almost regrets it, because I'm on here all the time ;D I do the sam ething. If I don't get it right away it is a big struggle, even if I'm interested, if I just don't know exactly what is what, I have a hard time Definately not alone one this one sweety

I had the advantage of being bitten by the computer bug so early in life that my ADHD symptoms weren't yet affecting my learning curves, so it's been in my blood most of my life ... can't imagine life without computers ...

I know very little about computers. It seems I just don't have the patience to learn much. I get frustrated if the computer doesn't do what I want it to do. Thank goodness DH is in college learning to be a computer programmer. If I need to know how to do something, (for the most part) I just ask him.

On the topic of computer stuff.... We got one of those computer catalogs in the mail the other day. It had IPODs in them. She asked me how they worked. Some how the music gets in there, but how?? Anyone shed some light on this one? Is it better than carrying around a walkman? I want to keep up with the trends ya know.... Miles

iPods have a memory card in them. You hook them up to your computer and put music in them.
As for being better than a Walkman...
*beats her head against the wall*
YES! You can carry around tons more music and don't have to change tapes or CDs.

Where do you get this computer music, do you go out and buy chips now instead of CD's? I know my computer doesn't have any music in it.
Thanks,
Miles:)

Miles ... I am an amateur on the "music side" but you can download just about anything from www.kazaa.com .... (I know this from my expert son!) ....you can download it from there and then transfer it to an Ipod or a CD ... and Voila you have yourself a CD (or Ipod) with all the music YOU have chosen!! ...

If your son is an expert, he should know to use kazaalite (http://www.kazaalite.com/) - no spyware. The RIAA does not like kazaa, limewire, or any of the other file-sharing services.
There are now several places that legitimately sell music online (http://www.apple.com/itunes/ for one), but they generally limit the number of times it can be burned to CD, etc.
You can also rip your CDs to mp3 (http://www.download.com/CDex/3000-2140_4-10226370.html?tag=lst-0-1 is the program that I use).
Clear as mud?
