you can come to my house for the big dinner.. but I live in chilly Alaska.. Its minus 10 as I type..
nice roasted turkey,, honey ham, stuffing, greenbean casserole, candied carrots and yams, massive homemade pies with whipped cream and snacks.. mashed potatoes with yummy gravy, rutabagas, cranberry sauce... you name it, its here.. and I have a dishwasher.
my house rules are, I cook, you clean... dont worry my honey cleans well.. I trained him day one of getting married. Been 11 yrs now.. he does windows and laundry too..

One major benefit of my little tiny house is that no one expects me to cook Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner. We split our time between my mom's and my husband's sister's house.

I've got to thinking about what I appreciate now. EVERYTHING!!! I appreciate my kids, for keeping me going My husband, for his love and support My parents, for raising me to be who I am today, My friends, for being able to be myself with no mask My job, for letting me get out of the house The kids at my job, for making me realize #1 my kids aren't as bad I think and #2knowing that someone is there for them so they don't go home to an empty house I could go on and on and on..... The List could not be complete with out being appreciative of these forums. With out you all, I'd be going insane. THANK YOU ALL!!!! Kaiti

Happy Thanksgiving to all, and safe travel to all on the roads this week! May every one, in every nation, have something to be thankful for. I appreciate this family... I was going to say more than you can know, but I think you all know exactly how much you are appreciated by everyone else on this forum!!! I found that the farther away you live, the less likely the family will come to your house for the holiday dinner. I moved 350 miles away, no one will come here. But I am leaving early tomorrow to drive to my SIL for turkey. (not just the eating kind, but all 7 kids and their entire flocks, plus MIL and FIL) Then from her place in Boston, on to my Mom near Albany, NY for my High School Reunion! And I am thankful that it is a casual evening, because I have put on enough weight in the last 20 yrs. that I wouldn't want to try to wear anything as revealing as we did back in '83

Well, without any political swaying from one side or the other, I am thankful and appreciate our military service persons that can't be with thier families during the holidays.
We just found out a friend of ours has been reactivated, and is supposed to be deployed around December 18, I would just like for everyone to come home safe.
