My son is 11 yrs. old weighs 76 lbs. has ADHD and anxiety. I have been giving him Fish oil 1000 mg. EPA on bottle is 180 mg and DHA 120 mg. He is taking this once a day. After reading some sites I see 480 DHA and 720EPA should be given. Does that mean 3,000 mg of this fish oil should he take? seems alot. Going to try magnesium, 5-htp and inositol for anxiety. I don't have him on concerta for school he hates taking it. The school doesn't know he is not medicated. Teacher said today getting good grades but agressive towards other students. help!

He should be taking 4 of these per day, preferablyhalf in the morning and half in the evening.
Have you tried any dietary modifications? That has been the most successful approach for us in dealing with "acting out" type behaviors like aggression. While I highly recommend trying the Feingold diet, you might have success simply by eliminating corn syrup. (This is NOT easy to do.) Corn syrup is frequently associated with tantrums, oppositional behavior and aggression.

Between diet and behavior modifications, his acting out might be changed. We see a world of difference in Mikey when he has gotten into something he can't have. The behavior mod......can i ask, is he getting picked on? Mikey suffers from the Hockey theoryitus.......he gets into trouble for not backing down after he was picked on and retaliating, while the others get away scott free. When I pointed this out to the teacher....I specifically called it my hockey theory. The instigator doesn't get into trouble, but my kid gets labeled.

Good point, the only time I ever hear anything about my oldest son being aggressive is when he's being picked on , and the teacher isn't noticing the instigator.
