I use a pharmaceutical grade vitamin B complex that contains 55mg of the B6 (as pyridoxine HCI and P5P). Using a B complex rather than just vitamin B6 alone will give you a better balance. This way you will get all the benefits of this vitamin since they work together. This is available from www.painstresscenter.com or by calling 1-800-669-2256. It is $12. for 100 capsules. To me, the fact that it is pharmaceutical quality is a major plus. I have heard that many people have bad reactions to using the B vitamins and using a source that contains P5P like this makes it easier to tolerate. P5P is coenzyme B6. it acts primarily as an enzyme catalyst in many body processes including energy metabolism and neurotransmitter function. Before it can be used for this purpose it must be converted into its coenzyme form by the liver. P5P eliminates this step by providing B6 in its converted form, allowing for greater bioavailability. I don't think I have found a better quality for this good a price.
